Can video game graphics now be considered photorealistic enough to put games in the category of movies?

i still can't beat the first mario and im 27 yrs old lol

if i can't beat it then its definately not for kids only

now mario galaxy might be aimed towards kids more because even miyamoto said hes aiming for more casual gamers

but casual doesnt mean kiddy either

It's rated Mature, not because it is mature, but because the images depicted in the game are not suitable for the average 17> person.

i so regret buying it

it was cool in 2005 when it first came out

but now its just rediculous looking to even consider playing that long slab of a thing in public without looking like a total dweeb

Would you let your 10 year old son play GOW3?J-WOW

Even though they brandish a 17 and up age bracket

and have graphics that have a certain amount of non-realism in it

because of the cartoonish bump mapping and gloss they add to each character in a mature video game

?

the question is...

will graphics ever impress us ever again?

will it reach photrealism in game graphics?

or are we already there with God of War and Heavy Rain?
