[QUOTE="shabab12"][QUOTE="zoidsj"]well the HDD doesnt break because its full. Its sensetive to just about anything and can breack down for many reasons. If the HDD is the problem and you alredy saw the yellow light it would be much cheaper to just buy a new HDD than to have sony fix it.

zoidsj

The yellow light has nothing to do with the HDD.

I heard from many people that YLoD is either HDD failure or power failure I'm not even sure anymore

I'm guessing it's the power for my situation. It's been playing for 7-8 hours straight. Not by me though, I had people over playing. Maybe it just needed a break.

I don't think its the HDD problem. I have 30 gigs left.

I'm not really sure, I've heard about it being a problem and people fixing it, but that's just me. I have no idea.

Just buy a new HDD, for $80 you can get a decent HDD that has even more room than what you have now. Try newegg.com or tigerdirect.com they give great deals

Potential?

You saw the yellow light and its only a potential? :P

Unknown_Hero3

Yeah it's only a potential, it's probably a warning sign or something, I don't know. It wouldn't start up, and its a Yellow light, which killed my other PS3.

So I was playing Resistance 2...all of the sudden..the controls weren't working? They just stopped. So I plug and play. It works. I disconnect, it doesn't work. Hmph..I think I'll restart my PS3. I start it, red lights flash. Try it again...

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*...Yellow light...

I panicked. Switched it off from back, waited. Hit it on again. It worked.

..I am tired of this. Close call. I'm about to contact stupid Sony.

You guise know I'm in my refurbished one too. I spent $150 to get it fixed, and my warranty started in late May, its about a week from done. So if this one gets destroyed, its another $150 into their wallets. I spent that money to get my PS3 fixed..not the same problem. But I'm not sure if its just overheated and it needed a break or not.

My friend is having trouble with his internet on his PS3. I set it up the same as mine, mine is perfect and nothing really wrong. His router isn't even that far, mine is farther too. Anyway it is so weird, it would log him out everytime he was at XMB for about 3 minutes. I told him it cuts him of when hes not active on the internet because in game when hes playing online, its fine, but its so annoying how it would cut him off just by waiting in the XMB or not being "active" on PSN. Any tips? I'm not to advanced in computers by the way, but I know a lot.

As you may have known, its been a month since I've gotten my refurbished PS3. Today I guess I was playing a buggy yet good game called Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and it lagged like crap offline. Then it booted me out back to the main menu. Wait! There's more! I decided to pop in NBA and then I hear technical sound issues, I keep it during the shoot around and the background music is making *bleep bleep* and scratchy sounds from here to there. Scared, I then decided to restart the PS3, I haven't played that long after the reboot, maybe 5 minutes to see what the heck was going on, but nothing happened. I'm afraid its a sign of some sort. Any ideas?

I just recieved my Playstation 3 back on Friday after experiencing the infamous Yellow Light (Had my PS3 since around Launch so I had to pay $150)....I asked for my Hard Drive back...they said they would send me it...but NO HARD DRIVE. They said I would get a new 60 gig Playstation 3, but ended up becoming a refurbished one. That day when I got it back, I decided to play some Resistance 2. After noticing some loud disc noises...I was playing online..and it froze......Then I updated Call of Duty: World at War and decided to quit and play something else. I clicked eject...but IT WOULDN'T EJECT!!!!!! It started blinking blue..so I decided to go ahead and reset it by holding down the reset button for a few seconds...heard the beeps..waited..started blinking not only blue, but not green! It wouldn't RESTART!. Finally I had to turn it off from the back and turn it back on...it worked. After contacting customer services via email..this is what I got....

Hello Matt,

We apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced with your PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system freezing, not ejecting your game and making noises. It seems that your PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system needs to come back in for service and I would suggest that you call in and speak with an agent over the phone. Please call our Consumer Services Department at (800) 345-7669. Our representatives are available to assist you Monday through Saturday 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Pacific Standard Time.

Regards,
Crystal L.

..now I have to potentially send it in again..and wait....(I am waiting for inFamous......) I am totally disatisfied and pissed off. I invested $680 on this thing...plus $150 for "maintinence" which actually made the case worse. If I file a complaint..will I finally get Sony to give me an extended warranty and perhaps a Dualshock 3 for my troubles? I heard someone wrote a letter to Sony personally complaining that he spend a lot of money and expected a durable system..but for him it was no good. What do you guys think?
