With all due respect, issues like these are being brought up as problem, when they're really not. I think we all know it's doable to make a push to bringing female characters to more leading roles, but the question is, and with no sexist implications at all behind this question...why?
A game with a similar premise as the matrix where you require someone who finished the game to play a role like morpheus and help someone new wake up in the real world. You have to use the real time communication features of the ps4 when you're playing the morpheus character to guide the neo character around while monitoring his movement in the game as he's playing.
I swear this game is getting so much flak only because its a diablo game, and not a game made by an underdog indie developer. The voices I think are way too loud for some of the features people don't neccessarily AGREE with, but as a game overall I don't see as much issues compared to the fact it is a fairly complete game, except of course the pvp which is taking forever to release.
Problem at hand is, while there are people frustrated at on-disc and day 1 DLCs, there are still the fans who are willing to shell out their cash for these games. Publishers know their practice are stepping on ethical bounds, but money is still coming in, why should they care what the haters think.
What could tick me off even more is that the so called 'team leaders' who gives out the order for the developer's crunch time are the ones who gets paid the most and work the least hours. Obviously there are exceptions, but the people who are the source of the stressful quality and long hours of most developers should be there and share the same workload.
I see iPhones with a pretty different but well defined role in terms of games. They're bite sized, cheap, and meant to be played with a casual mindset. If I want an epic rpg with a 90 campaign I would pick up a final fantasy remake on the psp or something.
