It's not going to get anywhere if you can only play $3 minigames on it. You need a high-end graphics if you are playing games on a 60" HDTV, let alone compete in that market. Sorry, but Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja won't be as popular as Call of Duty. And don't think that Activision wants to sell CoD for $3, so don't expect any CoD games on whatever rust bucket Apple releases.
24 years old, 5'10, barely drink much coffee. This thread is useless. Everybody is stating they are over 6 feet tall. From my experience, everybody exaggerates their height to make themselves feel more secure. If somebody claims to be 6'2, they are really 5'10 like me. Most people I see in real life are shorter than me (or similar height), yet here on the Internet everybody is a giant at 6'5. This thread is useless due to people feeling insecure about their height.
True. Keep in mind that the DS had modest sales at launch - less than PSP. In fact, DS sales only exploded when the Lite was released. DS Phat sold poor in comparison.
In another 6 months, people will forget all about this and play CoD online like nothing ever happened. Remember how many people gave up on 360 due to RROD back in 2006-2007? Doesn't look like many people care about RROD anymore, so same thing will happen with this.

They're in the 1%. More like 10%, not 1%. Steam is not iPhone App Store. For every popular game like Angry Birds, there are 10,000+ games that nobody has even heard of.
The reason why Valve won't disclose sales numbers is because they are a private company. Unlike EA, Microsoft, Square Enix etc, they have no need to publicly show information to shareholders. They don't even have any shareholders.
In order for Wii 2 (Project Cafe) to win market share from Sony or MS, Nintendo needs to do the following: 1) Better graphics than PS3/360. I am sure it can't be too hard to outperform a 5-year-old machine. Seriously... 2) Good online. Having a unified friend code is not enough, we need a beefed up network like XBL. If its really good, I will have no problems paying a subscription fee. 3) Achievement system. Yes, go ahead and say "its not important". But there are lots of people who enjoy collecting them. Just add it in for crying out loud. 4) 3D support. Yes, 3DTVs are expensive now in 2011, but in 2013 they will be very cheap. Add 3D support just to be future-ready. All it takes is a mere firmware update 5) Good interactivity with 3DS.
