Am I the only person who wouldn't be upset if this is true? I got the 360 the day it came out and I have roughly 40 games for it. I think it'd be nice to have a 2nd one so I have one in my bedroom and the other in the living room.

I've noticed when playing certain Wii games that claim they are 16:9 don't cover the entire screen. Zelda for example covers the with of the screen, but their is a little space left at the top and the bottom of the screen. SSX: Blur doesn't cove top or bottom, or either side. Same with Rayman, and alot of other titles.

Is this a design choice or am I doing something wrong? Have any of you noticed this? Check it out for yourselves. Thanks.

My HDTV is a standard NOT widescreen HDTV. So yes there are bars to make it into a 16:9 ratio. I have played it on a widescreen HDTV and there are little to no bars.

Target. Target usually has the cheapest games and best deals. Best Buy usually charges at least 5 bucks more per game where I am in Nevada, so I'd check Target if I were you.

Wirelessly. It wouldn't make sense any other way. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo forces me to buy a cable to connect the DS to the Wiimote.

Like I said, why did you buy a Wii? If you take away first party games, the Wii will always be behind the other two consoles.

I explained why I bought a Wii in my post which you quoted, why would you ask again?

I bought a Wii because I was very impressed with the DS and the games which were released for it by 3rd party developers.PantsOfFury

I obviously assumed that 3rd party devs would make something fun like they have with the DS, apparently it was wrong of me to put faith in Nintendo to care about 3rd party support.

[QUOTE="PantsOfFury"]Now, if they could announce a game I'm interested in within the next year....aransom

Why did you buy a Wii, if you're not interested in any upcoming games?

I bought a Wii because I was very impressed with the DS and the games which were released for it by 3rd party developers. Quite frankly I am not a fan of Nintendo's, Microsoft's, or Sony's first party games. They don't appeal to me nearly as much as something 3rd party devs make. I'm happy with the 4 Wii games I currently own, but as of right now there is only maybe one game coming out within the next year that I would consider paying more than $20 for. I would gladly buy Warioware if it were released at a budget price like it deserves to be, or I would gladly buy Trauma Center at a budget price since I've already been there and done that on the DS. If they (Nintendo or others) could release a FULL game on the Wii that doesn't have Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby, or (insert other overused Nintendo icon here) then I wouldn't be so bothered. If Capcom would jump on board the Wii wagon like they have with the DS (Phoenix Wright/Resident Evil) I would have nothing to complain about. Nintendo needs to realize that their tired franchises don't impress everyone anymore (though I will say I'm happy they made Zelda a fresh experience for the first time in 10 years), and that they need to give 3rd party devs more incentive to develop something more than meager party games for prices that can't be justified.

I never once thought that Nintendo would have even a half-baked online set-up. Apparently I was right, and I'll only be using my Wii as a secondary console to my XBOX 360. Now, if they could announce a game I'm interested in within the next year....

I highly doubt it because that would really kill pc sales, but if they made it where you could cross connect with the PC then yeah its plausable but unlikely.slipslayer_666
Playing on the same servers is entirely possible, but I would prefer an XBOX Live only server, much like what Phantasy Star Universe uses. Sega maintains a seperate server just for the XBOX 360 version of the game while the PS2 and PC versions are tossed together. I like smaller communities. Less people to annoy you that you have to ignore.

[QUOTE="Funkdaddy13"][QUOTE="h4yabusa"]I think they should have included the HD-DVD drive as standard right from the start

h4yabusa
The 360 would've cost $500 instead and Microsoft would've lost more money than they would've made....

I just get the feeling that they will end up using the HD-DVD's for games in the end even though they said they wouldn't, which means everyone will have to buy it if they want to play the latest & greatest games 1080 support apparently wasn't a requirement at first, but they have since or are soon to add support via an update...and if the rumors are true about a 2nd version of the 360 with HDMI & included HD-DVD then i think it will be more likely that they will end up using the HD-DVD format for games

I don't think Microsoft would alienate it's consumers that badly. They're not THAT stupid. I'm sure if they do something like that, they would force developers to make the games available on DVD and HD-DVD.
