Truely ownage...And I think Xfire does the servers for the PS3 BUT Just because someone else is running the Servers does not mean that its still free. I think Nintendo is setting up this Friend code crap as a cheap alternative and Will SOMEHOW Improve it using their channels...and you can hold me to my word!BET8390
I'll hold you to your word then. Nintendo seems to think their online set-up for the DS is just peachy, and I highly doubt they'll be willing to modify it much for the Wii. :)

Long story short, if you modified your XBOX to play burned XBOX Live enabled games, Microsoft will ban your console from Live. Companies usually have safeguards which they're constantly updating to make sure modders don't get onto their online services. I'm not saying it never happens and isn't possible, but it's never a sure thing.

The flaw in your criticizing is one thing; you don't know your info. My logic is not flawed, you just don't realize. Nintendo and Sony don't run servers, but gamespy does. That's why Nintendo is partnering with gamespy to help with online and the rosters. Also gamespy has been dropping hints that every game will have its own FC. Which is why this topic is made for those of you who are asking why so many are being made.

It's mainly because I've never bothered to check out Gamespy, but my logic still stands. If Nintendo isn't going to run and maintain servers for free, what makes you think Gamespy would do it (yes, I know it's what they do, but they're not going to set up Wii servers and maintain them for free, Nintendo would have to offer them something in return) AND offer you fantastic service for free? I'm not trying to be a jerk about your idea, I think it would be great if something like that really did end up happening. I've just come to realize that in nearly every aspect of life you can't expect high-quality service for no reimbursement of some kind.

And all I'm getting out of that link is that Gamespy wants to do what they were doing for the DS for the Wii.  Which is a bare-bones online service.  Now if you add money into that factore I guarantee they'd be willing to make some upgrades.

If u really want some advice, id straight up start by telling your dad to be a man. No self respecting man plays golf, no self respecting man puts limitations on his son for what kinds of junk he wants to buy for his Wii. This is the most childish system on the market and he wants to make it even more childish for u. Id say tell him to go screw himself, tell him u dont want anything at all from him, cuz u dont support Nazi's. Maybe he can do something useful with that money, like get a testosterone shot. PS. if u are buying a Wii for VC, its pointless, dont bother. If u want some kiddie games, be prepared to hate your Wii. Good luck.PerfectWhenDead
One of the worst posts I've ever had the misfortune of reading. Contradictions left and right, unrelated to the original topic, not helpful. Obviously one of those people who tries to act tough on the internet because the have low self-esteem. As for the original topic, I'd suggest Sonic And The Secret Rings for you two. It's fairly fun, yet not boringly easy. And it has party games for multiplayer so you don't have to worry about Warioware or anything like that.

Should I be annoyed by this? All the guy was doing was putting out an idea that he thought would work for a Wii online plan. Believe it or not there are still people putting out topics EVERY DAY on how XBOX Live could change. It's not a big deal, don't act like it's some sort of tragedy when all it is is somebody sharing their opinion. It's not like you're being forced to enter the topics to get all angry. And you're being way to hopeful about the Wii online there, buddy. A Universal Friend code may be the only thing you can ask for, don't expect much more than that.

C'mon, let the children play. You act like somebody making a thread ruins your day... Did they hurt you in any way? I'm sure they're sorry if they did.

Best : TECMO - Super Swing Golf is one of the most addictive things I've played in a long time. Worst : SNK Playmore - As much as I love the Metal Slug series, the lack of classic controller option hurts bad, the Wii controls for it are horrible, and they aren't arcade perfect ports if they have to load the way they do. It's just awkward and disappointing for me. Note: This is only because I had the highest hopes for this collection, and it let me down in almost every way imaginable.

You've got a good idea right there i agree with you 100% however id rather see nintendo spend their time on actually making some games that can be played online. And please dont mention pokemon we arent all 12 years old.........

blackmagic123
20 years old here, and Pokemon is one of the only things I'm looking forward to on the Wii in the next year. Once you realize that just because a game has a cartoon which is successful amongst children doesn't make it a bad game (in fact a very solid, fun, and unique [for the most part] game) maybe you'll be able to enjoy some of your games instead of trying to be Mr. Tough-Guy Adult. Viva Pinata and Pokemon are some of the most fun games you can play (especially as far as single player goes).

The flaw in your logic is the whole "Nintendo setting up servers" thing. Microsoft runs servers for XBOX Live, and they maintain them which is why you pay $50 a year for the service. Nintendo and Sony don't set up servers so they don't have to maintain them (and if they do set up servers they're very low-grade) which is why their services are free. You get what you pay for my friend. Just hope that the people you're playing with have fast connections, or you can expect many many lagfests. I do wish Nintendo would come up with something though, I really would like to have some kind of reason to play my Wii online.
