New exhibition

This was a fascinating article about a new exhibition in Sweden. Kind of puts things in perspective when you see things dating back over 5000 years.

Brand new Playstation!!!

I finally bit the bulletĀ and bought myself a shiny new black PS2 (diet version) and a copy of the first 'God of War.'

I did the same thing back in 2000 and bought the original-shaped Playstation towards the end of it's life as well. Something about the whole Playstation brand just puts me off buying one in the early years and during the peak of it's popularity. With everyone and his dog falling over themselves to own one I just prefer to sit back and watch the dust settle a little bit before dipping my toe in the water.

Don't get me wrong, all in all they're both fine machines as I'm sure the PS3 will be. It's just this mega-media blitz which I kind of find a bit vulgar and almost unique to Sony.

Pedal to the metal!

I picked upĀ  'Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition' last week as I haven't really played a game like it and wanted to see what it was like. So glad I did as it's a lot of fun. The sense of speed, the customisation and the freedom to go wherever you like. It's all a far cry from 'Chequered Flag' on the Speccy which I still doff my cap to.

I haven't taken it online as yet because I know I'll get pasted. I'll need to unlock a few extra goodies before I can even think of competing.

Diplomacy Rocks!

I've installed the plain vanilla version of 'Galactic Civilizations II' straight off the CDs on to my PC and I have to say, it's a great game. Lots to keep track of and I'm my own worst enemy in terms of bankrupting myself before getting my fleet together but, nonetheless, having a lot of fun with this game.

'Baldur's Gate' is still waiting in the box until I can set aside some serious gaming time for it but it will get played.

Lik-Sang R.I.P.

I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw this news on a fellow Gamespotter's blog. I wish I could act surprised, however. Unfortunately if there's one company that could portray itself in the worst possible light then that company would have to be Sony. First E3 and now this. Shame on you, Sony.

The next Nintendo handheld console?

While I was busy adding tags to some games here on this site I noticed that I had the same game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance and the Nintendo Gamecube. Was this naming deliberate on Nintendo's part or purely coincidence? Could their next handheld console be called the PocketWii, the WiiLite or the Wiipod?

Food for thought.
