Looks good, parts remind me of the Witcher but with a much higher level of detail. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see anything besides a walk-through. Can the system handle game paced running or would it hit loading/streaming issues? If the gameplay sucks, then the game will suck regardless of the graphics.

XBox controller >>>> PS Controller hands down. Your fingers naturally sit towards the offset analog stick. Many games your right thumb is used for buttons, and only flicks the right stick to adjust aim. It's just the better design overall and it's more comfortable.

Hell, even the Switch Pro controller feels more comfortable than the DS4

Meh, most OLEDs have problems with colour banding, and blacks that hit 0 turn right off and appear too dark versus blacks at just 1.

The LG B8 to W8 series has promise to improve the banding over the 7 series but honestly it's not so good that gaming on other screens becomes worthless. Thats just foolish.

Seems the new Samsung Micro LED might end up being better anyways.

Cows are really mad at people who prefer the Swtich. Too bad, they're missing out on some great shit due to being a fanboy.

I would take botw and mario over any ps4 game this year, with horizon being the only game coming close.

I'm sure the game is tons of fun, which is the most important aspect of any video game, but I've heard it's awfully short.

Anyone care to elaborate on that ?

I can elaborate.

They have a small set of moons required in order to beat each level, and thus progress the story. Lets say 10 moons per level. With 12 levels, you can beat the main story in just 120 moons (i'm estimating these values). Thus, you can very easily and quickly beat the game by simply getting the 10 easiest moons in each level. This is good for casual players who want to progress without too much difficulty and it gives them the opportunity to "beat" the game.

Each level, however, actually has closer to 70+ moons in them which many are available on your first run through. With so many moons available, of varying difficulty, you can spend a lot of time and have a lot of fun going for them all, as the more difficult moons are going to be more of a challenge versus the moons that are just sitting in plain site. Lets say 60 moons are available through the first run, but once you beat the end of the game, a cube can be located in each world unlocking another 10-15 moons, and these moons are much more difficult than the standard moons. Again, this would be for more experienced players.

The length of the game ends up depending on the type of player, if they want to race through just the story, or seek and locate all of the challenge moons. Playtime will thus vary from player to player.

That's nice, lot of interesting games, but I've got so much in my backlog and right now the main thing for me is Forza Horizon 3 getting X-enhanced in 4 days. But I'm likely getting all 4 of those 1st party titles when they come out, they all look interesting to me. Mostly feature-rich games that are different enough from each other, should be great fun......and this single player classic-looking masterpiece, so stoked for it:

Looks great. The graphics really remind me of Trine 2 but more fluid.

I'll laugh at the haters if they suddenly release an update with virtual console, streaming services like hulu, netflix, youtube, and add in more console features like save transfers, cloud saves, etc.

Personally, as someone who didn't own a WiiU, ports from that console are like new for me, and I know many others out there are in the same boat having skipped the WiiU. I think it's momentum will be fine since it already has a great catalog for just 10 months on the market. That's enough to draw in sales for a while.

I suppose a MINI direct means its just getting the remasters, indie, and DLC stuff out of the way so they don't have to focus on them at E3.

I'm interested in Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Hyrule Warriors as I've never played these on a WiiU.

DLC for Mario Odyssey and Mario and Rabbids looks interesting also.

Portal Dark Souls? Sure, why not.

Switch hands down. Look at the titles it got this year:

- Breath of the Wild
- Mario Odyssey
- Splatoon 2
- Arms
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Mario and Rabbids (which was great)
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2

That's a pretty healthy list of games which most scored really well. Personally, I love having a portable Binding of Isaac and Thumper.

A Link to the Past very closely followed by botw...weapon breakage was the clincher..I find it annoying in botw. :P

I see a lot of complaints about weapon breakage but honestly, it was required. If you found a strong weapon that didn't break, you would never use anything else. Also, having everything breakable adds to the survival aspect of the game, so its 100% justified and a good mechanic as far as I'm concerned.
