Ehhhh.. I dunno about a screen with a built in Shield TV. The problem with that is that 99% of TVs on the market still use ARC for audio out to an AVR (receiver), meaning you are limited to DD and DTS 5.1, no Atmos, no 7.1, no DTS-HD, or Dolby TruHD audio. They could use the new eARC spec, but honestly, it's easier to buy a new shield standalone unit than upgrade the entire screen when new tech comes to market.

X1X is just 1.5x more powerful than the Pro (50% better GPU, 50% more RAM and the same CPU). Saying that one is a gimmick and the other is a real upgrade is a bit ridiculous!

A real upgrade for me is a generational leap, like 10 times more power.

Yes but this isn't supposed to be a 'real' / generational upgrade. It's a mid gen refresh. Personally I think a mid-gen refresh should have a decent power increase like the X1X did versus a small optimization boost like the pro had.

Someone like yourself should wait for the X2 and PS5 instead whic is perfectly fine also.

My take on this is that DF pointed out that on more powerful hardware, the game under performs. Regardless if they said 1080p and its' not. Te Dev likely tailored their game for the Playstation and ported the changes to the Xbox with little to no effort to utilize the X1X's extra power to smooth out these issues. Frame rate drops on the x1x version should not be a thing even if they run the exact same code! !005 on DF's side with this.

Also, who are these guys and what crap game is this?

BOTW hands down. Skyrim has nothing on zelda. Does Skyrim even have a physics engine? I can't recall if it had a weather system that was even meaningful, and skyrim character animations were shite cakes.

Man childrens everywhere. Gone are the good old days of Hardcore games as Ninja Gaiden, Demons Souls. Pity the world we live in where shitty games wins over Persona 5, Nier Automata, Nioh .

Poken by someone who hasn't even played it. Try master mode and tell me its a kiddie game.

Only remarkable thing about Horizon was the looks. Apart from that it was dull and repetitive as heck. Im no BotW fan, but it was far far better game in all respects.

Did you even play it??

I played it and beat it. I have to agree mostly. HZD was beautiful, but the melee combat was terrible, ranged combat was fun, but got old after a while. Exploration was null because everything was on your map assassins creed style. Goign to towers to unlock maps and missions assassins creed style was old fast also. The story was OK but very poorly paced IMO. The open world felt very restrictive with laid out paths on where to go. But it looked nice.

All of the Switch success will end soon very soon. I'll 've the last laugh. Nothing can beat PS 2 lifetime sales as it was a Legedary console back in the day, certainly not Switch of all.

This is such a salty comment.

Just because PS2 sold amazing doesn't mean no console can ever sell like that again. In fact, Nintendo have a history of high selling consoles like the NES, SNES, and even the Wii. I would actually love to see the cow meltdowns here if Switch outsold PS2 lifetime sales at some point.

@charizard1605: So it is a reboot of sorts then? That may very well be, but it is still done within the confines of the single player formula, mostly. Like I said it seems to have perfected that area, but then I see a game like Demon Souls(Dark Souls for me since I never played DS), and it added a whole new dimension to the Single player Action RPG format with blood stains from other players, summoning people, it was innovative with its online implementation and this expanded its scope significantly for people like me. I'm not saying Zelda should necessarily do that, but its scope can seem limited if we start comparing it with other high-profile games in the same genre, in terms of replay value and longevity. Once you are done with it, you basically move on unless you want to replay it several times more, which is fine. Like I said earlier, it appears to excel at what it does, and of that I have little doubt.

No, i think your comments are coming straight out of the fact that you haven't played the game, because they seem very off key. Adding a feature like blood stains is nothing game changing. Zelda reinvents itself with this iteration, and has an almost entirely new style of gameplay, while adding an actual open world (unlike previous linear-ish Zelda games). A game does not need multiplayer to better, or goty. Infact, the worst thing they could do is tack on multiplayer for the sake of just having it.

in what way?

In every way with the exception of gliding.

lol nice one. so basically you are just trolling.

i actually thought you had something to say

lmao

Oh so you prefer a list

  • Better visuals
  • Better gameplay
  • Better story
  • Better technology
  • Better pacing
  • Better controls
  • Better combat
  • Better UI navigation
  • Better traveling system
  • Better seamlessness of the world (virtually no loading times outside of death)

Edit: bold

The real question would be have you played the game?

The gameplay was def better in botw

The tech was better in botw -> you need to have a look at the physics/interaction comaprison video between HZD and botw

- Here is part 1

- Here is part 2

Pacing -> I'd say they were about even here but HZD had much more story

Controls -> botw had better controls overall for weapons, and arrow shooting, and running/climbing

Combat -> I enjoyed HZD combat, but botw was much harder, add in that you had to build up an inventory of weapons kept combat on it's toes

UI -> botw was straight forward, HZD was ok too actually, but this one comes down to personal preference

Travelling system -> botw hands down, super easy, open map, warp to shrine, done. Capture a horse, and ride it. Climb anything, fly from anywhere...

I mean I loved HZD but BoTW is a better game at almost every step.
