@mwewerka: First, it was not a dead pixel. The video poster already said it was dust (and you can see the dot even with the screen turned off).
I think you are seeing this with the wrong perspective.
Nintendo is not competing directly with MS and Sony since the Wii. And honestly, most people already have PS4/Xbone and PC, so another machine that does the same thing is unnecessary.
They are offering a different deal than MS and Sony, a portable hybrid that delivers consistent graphics for what it does, AND their games throughout the console`s life span. Since you can only play nintendo games on nintendo, and differently from most Xbone/Ps4 exclusives, they offer experiences that you simply cannot find on other platform.
So yeah, if you are judging this as the same thing as a PS4/XBone, then it is overpriced and performs worse... but it is not meant to be their replacements, it is its own thing.
Ps: all consoles use "old tech". Ps4 and Xbone also use hardware that is rather old gen.
Though I would love a remaster since some things in this game look really poor now (Doesn't matter how high you set the resolution, some effects like blur, transparency are really low res and pixelated)
