Frieza saga and sayan saga are the only two worth watching. They both had tremendous back story and were epic in nature with themes that hit home hardest. Goku dying to kill his own brother. The redemption of Vegeta and the revenge of the entire sayan race against Frieza. Those were DBZ's golden days.

However I think if the child was under the impression that he was in this situation because of his mom (like she called the cops on him) then i think that could also drive a big emotional wedge between the child and his mom. My father used to threaten me by sending me to the orphanage when i was around that age and i remember it still decades later with anger.
Depends what maturity level you and your peers are at. Sex loses some of its mystique and "coolness" the older you get and the more single parents you come across.
I love Mastodon, AIC, and the deftones, but I am a cheapskate and usually only go to small time concerts because 56 dollars is a lot of money to hear music I can just sit at home and listen to on my computer.
