@Sohereiam @HiroArka "but I don't see a reason for a thousand NPC AI in a map"
'but I don't see a reason for a thousand NPC AI in a map', he says! I can't believe you said that! You never thought, not even once, how awesome it would be to have, say, 500 good guys vs 500 bad guys? Or even 5,000 good guys vs 5,000 bad guys? Something like this:

OR something like this in real-time, with thousands of NPCs on a battle ship, firing at each other.:

"all of this you mentioned can be created with the current engine"
No, it can't! It takes up to 2 years for hard work to even program such an engine, on current consoles. 2 years, that most people don't have. It would be so much easier if they could do it on the Next-Gen. You do want them to have an easier time making and trying new gameplay ideas, right?
@Sohereiam @HiroArka No, they did reach their maximum potential. Just look at this:

The PC looks better.
And, may I add, Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes was running on a powerful PC too.
And we can do so much more if we had the Next-Gen now. we could have thousands of NPC AI in one map; we could have Red Faction level of destruction for all buildings; we could have control over the way water flows down a mountain; trees will really grow in open-world games; AI could be able to search for you in maps, looking inside rooms etc; characters won't be animated anymore, no, they will have real in-game muscles and bones so they can actually walk on rocky or smooth ground.
