To joujou264: "Shut your trap". You said you "seen me preaching the next gen", So you seen all the tech demos I showed, right? You must have an extremely poor imagination, if you can't think one cool gameplay idea after watching all those demos.
I am sick of linear games. I want games like Red Faction: Guerrilla, From Dust, MineCraft-- games like that. I don't care for games that make me "go here, shoot this, go there, shoot that, go there, shoot some more, do that for me, take that gun, save those people". And I see *nothing* in the Wii U that will change that.
The people who made BodyCount said they wanted to do *more*, but couldn't, Because of the RAM and hardware.
@CaptainBerserk But the point is why would you need the extra violents if the game is good? There was nothing in Gears of War, or God of War, or no more heros, or Killzone, or Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, or COD or Far Cry 3 that needed that violents at all.
Grave of the Fireflies, did you watch it? Is there one game for the PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii as adult as that movie? No? Then maybe we should take away their violent games, so they can be better storytellers.
Here's "no man's land", when games can tell stories like this, then talk to me about violents:
@Khasym What about Gears of War 2? the only thing they added to that, was Executions! Just more blood. Is that all there is? More violence?
How about a game that trys something new? Like From Dust, Mindcraft, Terraria, X-COM, Star Control, ActRaiser, Shadow of the Colossus, Dungeon Keeper, Alpha Centauri, or Imperium Galactica? Any one of these games can beat the crap out of any of those stupid ultraviolent games. Good games doesn't need stupid gimmicky violent to sell -- only bad stupid games.
@Mega_Skrull There is a video I posted to Phazevariance down below, but I'll just say it here:
Your PS3 renders your games, then sends the image to your HDTV, right? What if your PS3 was 1000 miles away? Well, that's what OnLive and Gaikai are trying to do right now.
So if your PS7 has, say, 500GB of RAM. Then your iPod would just ask Gaikai's Render Farm (which would have 100TB of RAM) to render the game, then send it back for you to see it. The Render Farm does all the work, and your iPod would just need to show you the final render.
So, in a way, your iPod could show graphics better then a PS7.
@joujou264 Maybe. maybe bandwidth caps will be changed. Maybe internet speed will go up( In fact, I know they will go up). But the cost of making games will go straight down, and games will look better then ever if this were to happen. And what about Pirates? Crytek said for one Crysis game that was sold, there was 20 Pirated copies.
