So I guess you didn't see the tech demos then? (sigh)
Okay, then here:

You can't tell me that games won't be better if they had this kind of tech in the PS4. It's not just graphics that are going to have a quantum leap in games, you know.
"Any creative vision that a designer could come up with, we can do a pretty good job representing on current generation and certainly on PC,"
That's nonsense. Most games have a hard enough time just having good graphics, let alone, having the power to create gameplay like Minecraft, Red Faction Guerrilla, From Dust, Fracture, PS3's MAG, Hydrophobia, Total War: Shogun 2, Real-time Strategy games, 4X, or even Simulation games like SimCity 5.
@billlabowski There's a new water cooling system that's made on top of the graphics chip that will help with the heat. And MS will not have another RROD.
The best graphics card back in 2005 had about 256MB to 512MB of RAM. Even back then, developers were still complaining that this wasn't enough. Why even Unreal 3 had to cut back on cool graphics, like this dynamic shadow:
The Best graphics card of today (like GeForce GTX 690), Has about 4GB of RAM. They said that Luminous Engine needed more RAM to run then Unreal Engine 4 did.
Not forgetting that 4GB of RAM is just for the GPU, the CPU would need at least 4GB of RAM too.
2.) I hope Andrew House is telling the truth, because I hear once that the PS4 only has 2GB of RAM! Developers need *AT LEAST* 8GB of RAM for Avatar-like graphics, *and* other big leaps in AI and physics.
If we don't get enough RAM, then developers will have to work extra hard on the graphics, and there will be no big leaps in AI or physics, and we'll be stuck with linear games for another 10 years!!
@onewithtoenail7 Since when did "just not buy them" ever, ever, Ever, EVER, *EVER* worked??? Every time GTA comes out, it sells more copies then the last one. Why, GTA IV sold 20 million!! With that kind of sales, they have absolute power to do whatever they want, because who is going to stop them? And "absolute power corrupts, absolutely".
You just want your violent sick games, you don't care how good or bad the gameplay is.
Remember Ridley Scott's Alien? The only bloody part of that was the chest bursts scene and the black guy with bloody mouth (as I can remember). Now, we have blood and gore coming out of every orifice! If they ever make a remake of Alien, I'm betting it's going to be a lot more violent and bloodyer. And that's just sad. They have to do more to shock people.
And I don't like "The Last of Us", because there was no way to NOT kill people. It's should be up to the player to not kill. And I thought the Dad was sick.
