With a lazy & childish name like Wii it was never going to be cool.

IF they come up with a proper name for WiiU ..hell even if they are lazy Wii Ultra, sounds much better than just WiiU.

TheFallenDemon

Playstation. Playstation 2. Playstation 3.

Xbox. Xbox 360.

Nintendo 64. Gamecube. Wii.

At least Nintendo tried to come up with something different..

It doesn't matter if they try to be different. Slapping unfamiliar brand names on their consoles is what killed Sega and it'll eventually catch up with Nintendo.

... you do realize that the Wii is Nintendo's most successful console ever, right? And that their most successful handheld -- wait no, THE most successful handheld of all time, the DS, is the one that broke away from the "Game Boy" brand?

I don't really think the Wii is "cool", but it certainly is (or at least was) mainstream. Many many people have played the Wii.

Very clear that many people in this thread looked at the thread title and nothing else, lol.

As for me, I would love to see a Retro-developed Star Fox. Honestly that alone might be enough, though the final release of Pikmin 3 would also be great. I also fully expect New Super Mario Bros. Mii to become a full game based on the ridiculous sales of NSMBWii. If those three were confirmed for the first 3 months of the Wii U, I'd buy it at or near launch.

Nope, I love the Galaxy games. SMG2 is probably my favorite game of the generation.

Forget all the nonesense about controllers sensing your brainwaves, look closlet at the picture in this link. SONY is ALREADY patenting a Wii U esc tablet controller, with a screen in the middle, camera and everything.

I LOooove SONY, but their video game division needsto die. It boggles my mind that alls they do is LEECH off of other company's, and people still buy their stuff. If it wasn't for Blu Ray, i'm sure PS3 wouldn't be doing half as good. GOD DAMMIT!!

Or, you know, it could be a handheld portable like the PSP or Vita but the illustrator didn't know what the PSP or Vita looks like or has crappy drawing skills.

...but had completely to-spec drawings of the DualShock 3 and Move controller? Also, since when does a PSP or Vita have zero analog nubs/sticks?

Regardless, I really don't like the idea of having games react to your stress level. Your stress level is something that's often not easy to contro, and thus it would be dumb for your character in-game to miss a kill shot just 'cause you got excited. I for one am glad the Vitality Sensor never got released.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, which scored a 7.9 on GameSpot and IGN. Best Mario Kart game if you ask me. I really wish Nintendo would revisit the two-characters-per-kart concept; it worked great.

The bottom of the well in Ocarina of Time. Soooooooo creeeeepy. Probably mostly 'cause I was like 7 when I played it. But I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Vita, because it's a handheld, which likely means cheaper development costs. Although... looking at the Vita again, maybe that won't be true?

Does anyone even know if wifi for Mario Kart DS will continue any longer after 3DS version comes out? There's another factor.hydralisk86

Mario Kart DS is Nintendo's first online game ever, so there's really no way of knowing how long they'll keep Wi-Fi support for the title. I expect it to continue at least halfway into the 3DS' lifestyle, given that the game has sold SO many copies and there are SO many DS owners out there. But like any company, there's no way Nintendo will be able to keep online play for all its titles (for free) until the end of time, so they'll close down eventually; it's a question of when.

Hopefully they won't pull an EA and pull online support as soon as Mario Kart 7 is out.

I wouldn't really call game consoles "toys" -- I would call them entertainment devices. The word "toy" has a connotation that something only children play with, which is not the case; the average gamer is actually much older. Maybe this is just semantics though.

It is true that Nintendo does cater to a younger audience than either Sony or Microsoft (or many third parties) because it tries to cater to everyone, but that much has always been true, really. To say that is the "wrong message" is rather debatable, considering how much the Wii and DS have sold, and how great many of their recent games have been. So I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

Microsoft. The Xbox 360 launched a year earlier than the PS3, and Sony just loves to say its consoles have long lifespace, so I doubt they're in any hurry.
