The cloud is basically just online servers.. so data can be stored on those servers.. it means specific things could be downloaded from the servers instead of processed on the system.. it'l mostly be used for MMO's. I don't see it being anywhere near the huge feature MS is trying to make out it will be.Rattlesnake_8The problem is that MMORPGs will reign supreme on the PS4 since SONY isn't charging to play MMOs.

[QUOTE="QUIKnEZ"]The Cloud infrastructure enhances graphics by "real time loading" extra graphical effects that will likely be in the form of constantly updated pockets of data. Think of this gen's HD install; only much better and with physics and AI tossed in. But the main feature the cloud will provide is a better gameplay experience. Yeah, just like MMORPGs... http://mmohuts.com/wp-content/gallery/the-warlords-overview/the-warlords-man-city.jpg?ec9f9b :lol:It's clear that the PS4 has slightly better hardware (don't argue, Carmack knows more than you) ... but I'm curious whether there's been any real clear explanation of how the X1's cloud will actually enhance visuals, if it can at all?
AI, game storage and other "off-loading" to free up GPU / CPU makes sense, but it's not as though graphical rendering will be done remotley, will it?

Something has to be accounting for the size of the X1's case... I mean the box if HUGE... maybe overcompensation for RROD or poor engineering... who knows.

This, I've been dying to get a cutaway look at each consoles internals, can't just be fans. Somethings up in there.
eSRAM, move engines and a whole host of hardware to make up for poor memory choices. The size is down to poor engineering/design choices with the memory architecture. DDR3 RAM was used to guarantee having 8 GB on release, but Microsoft needed to add in the eSRAM and move engine (These 2 combined are near 2 billion transistors in total) in order to make up for the low bandwidth on the main RAM. There is no advantage in having the servers. SONY has been providing dedicated servers for their games while Xboners were playing in crappy P2P networks this gen. It goes without doubt that SONY will offer more dedicated servers next-gen as PS+ subscriptions will rise. Microsoft is just now catching up to SONY. 300k is what Microsoft hopes to achieve in the future. They have 15k now and probably <1k of them will be used for Xbox LIVE. Microsoft isn't stupid. They know the Xbox ONE is going to fail. Why would they use so many servers on an online community that's dead?I would be curious to understand if the X1 has any advantage in brining cloud to their users.
Clearly MS is currently a step ahead having invested in 300K servers and running the Azure service while SONY has nothing comparable and most likely would have a hell of a time replicating such a setup; that said, I could see in 5-years SONY having a more robust cloud (outside of storage), similar to PSN slowly evolving to be a comparable service to XBL, granted XBL still has the edge.

True, sorry I slipped :P
lol... So I'm a troll for calling out Microsoft's bullshit? You xboners need to get a life and stop devoting your life to some plastic shit. Get a real human to sleep with you in bed every night. Your xbox is getting pretty sticky with all the human excrement you put on it every night. :lol:No. It actually HURTS fps. Developers aren't going to utilize complex AIs in their games. They'll be highly simplistic and won't take up much processing power. It's much better to just use hardware to handle shit like that instead of programming some complex overhead that waits for the server to do the calculation in order to use the values that the server does onto the client. When OdinMS released their maplestory source code, I use to fiddle around. When I played the game by myself on a shitty computer, I was getting 60+ FPS. When I set up a server and connected my PC to that server, I use getting lower FPS rates (Somewhere in the 30s and 40s).[QUOTE="PoundYourButt"][QUOTE="wiiutroll"]not at this point as takes alot bandwitdth just for lighting , lighting through cloud starting to be done (testing phases) which was taking 48 mb/secs. All it will do for now is optimize fps in games for now.

Again, your xboy googles are blinding you from seeing the truth. Here's a "cloud-powered" game: http://mmohuts.com/wp-content/gallery/the-warlords-overview/the-warlords-man-city.jpg?ec9f9bIt's been said early on that physics tasks can be performed via the cloud so I don't see why not. Even though online is not required for the console expect certain games, like Titanfall, to have an online requirement.[QUOTE="k2theswiss"]Exactly. Yeah, so do enemy spawn rates and enemy AIs. Here's the result: http://mmohuts.com/wp-content/gallery/the-warlords-overview/the-warlords-man-city.jpg?ec9f9bsince the always online part has been removed. don't expect any big uses of using servers to power stuff
of course they can always just make the games require online
