Yes, I don't plan on buying them. If they're required in some way to use new units or something I'll just stop playing the game entirely.
In addition to the lack of LAN, the announcement that they would split the game into 3 parts was very disheartening to me. I have zero interest in the single player campaigns, so I would only be paying for some units. Not worth it for me.
Actually I am pretty sure a Blizzard rep stated that you won't need to buy the expansion to continue playing the multiplayer with the rest. Plus no one knows the details of how expensive the next installment of SC2 will be.
To the OP, have you considered that some people only like to play a handful of games?
My game library is big, yet many of games I have untouched or unfinished where I am playing the same games all the time.
Paying $60 for a hefty update for the game you continually play is a small price to pay.
