Mirrors Edge was horrible. It was supposed to be released in 09. But EA is a corporate travesty and releases this game early. Results are a short game, no variety, no depth, no real online play and SHOCKER a total flop in sales. Screw EA.

What colonizing animals we are. Nothing but sequels in the games industry. RE5, KZ2, GTA4, MADDEN 25, ......damnit.

When can there be a new idea. There are only two new IP's i can think of right now. Heavy Rain is one (sort of), and I Am Alive from E3 2008.

At the same time that games are becoming more commercially popular than ever, games are becoming very very expensive to produce and the industry is conglomerating. Corporate buyouts and cost issues are forcing new IPs into near obscurity. Advertising is paramount in what makes a big game today. Then there is the intellectual wall game developers are hitting. Throughout my childhood from the 8bit systems to the PS1 to the N64 to the PS2 its always been huge leaps in hardware that have allowed huge leaps in concept. But the latest gen has hit that technology wall where the developers can only do so much and only spend so much to do the same damn things. Maybe this is just another period of transition, but it feels like as a lifetime gamer in my 20's its not that Im too old for games but simply that the industry has peaked.

I just listened to the radio interview, and I have to say, that was some powerful stuff. I must admit that I almost cried at one point. I have very strong respect for that man.GabuEx

I also felt my tear wells coming up a few times. I guess that was from my being a Christian for 20 years. What made this hit home so much was that I had the same revelation he had. I couldn't square eternal torture with eternal love. This man is the only Christian I can respect, he has elaborated my world view.

Air Force Nikes with the gel soles.

Also here is an obscure one, Yo-Yo Balls from the early 90's.

Jesus died for something (apparently). The problem of course is the conflict between the myth of hell and the promise of Jesus. It is said that Jesus died for all, not simply those who heard of him and were born and/or indoctrinated into the Christian social organization. That is the disconnect in logos that we have to acknowledge.

[quote="PrimordialMeme"]Apparently [Christianity's] not love or forgiveness, its about fear. Genetic_Code
If there is no hell, no evil, then there is no value to good. To quote from the article you provided: "After all, when there's no Hell (as the logic goes), you don't really need to believe in Jesus to be saved from it."

If by hell you mean tangible suffering. But a myth of hell is not tangible.

What Carlton Pearson realized is that hell exists only on earth. He saw starving people in Africa on TV and he had this revelation. This can come in many ways. But the point for believers is that they preach love but truly only believe in hate. That is why a Christian threat of hell is contradictory.
