Also reminds me of the rumors that Windows 8 is able to play Xbox 360 games, guess what not in a 100 years XD all it does is connecting to the Xbox and you can play some live arcade titles no one wants to play same with the steambox which will be probably designed to run Linux based PC ports of PC games, since valve is trying to get away from Windows. All in all the concept is great and valve is awesome but why would they want to appeal to the console players, console players play consoles for a reason and that is its freakin casual, you power on the button on the console and pick up the gamepad thats all there is to it. And in the end thats not what we wanted, I think people expected from valve that they come up with a powerful own console similar to the next gen consoles which is able to play the awesome PC games out there but why would they do that since you can build your own gaming PC easy anyway.

@StarkJJ well for people who like casual PC gaming and want to test out steam this is a very good opportunity but for serious gamers or people who enjoy a high end PC title this is not the way to go, just please have in mind the size of the graphics card and the cooler it takes to play a demanding PC game and the possibility that a developer actually will port their games to the Linux version the Steambox :/

oh and another important aspect I forgot to mention is it will run on a modified Linux version which mainly valve or other indie developer will probably approach and which means we cant get the awesome games like Crysis on it :[ but rather indie games that actually run on the modified Linux, dont get me wrong I love PC gaming and I appreciate what Valve is going for here its just that I am sceptic that tripple A developers will accept to port PC games to the modified Linux and therefor awesome games will be left out thats all my concern :/

here is the problem with the grapefruit. First of all you cant pack in powerful hardware into a tiny box you just cant, second I am sceptic that it will run high end PC games and third people already play on their smart phones so this could only appeal to casual PC gamers.

Also I think in Crono Trigger the main hero dies halfway in the game and they go back in time to replace his time-frozen body with a dummy clone of him xD Pretty weird stuff back then :D

I want to point out a very underrated game called Steel Battalion which was unfortunately killed by the horrendous Kinect gameplay layout but it feautured perma death characters and you could even slap your co-pilots or talk moral into them I thought the concept was pretty darn good and it was actually sad when you lost some of the co-pilots forever but my god the controlls were so darn gamebreaking :[

@Epicurus-Reborn I am very sorry to hear that :( hardcore is soooo unforgiving in Diablo 3 its almost no fun at all investing all that time into leveling up a character and then you just die by a stupid lag spike or a random elite mortar :[[[
