Like I said, I never though we were also talking about difficulty. Flanking requires better AI then rushing and I also the realistic choice as people who rush in in real life get killed fast.

(Sorry I'm leaving this topic now, I spent like an hour on this already LOL)

LOL Never thought we were ever talking about challenging or not. I agree the AI in SC is really easy to beat especially when they'r all knocked out. That's why I said MGS has some things that SC AI can't do. That's calling in for reinforcements.

Guards always know where you are when they're in full alert mode. Otherwise, they wouldn't know I hid in that vent even though they never saw me run into there. Yeah and actually they do walk. An "!" appears on their head and they say "What's that!" Then they walk over.
"And the search party is meant to rush everything making it that you can't emerge from your hiding spot until they leave."

Which doesn't require very good AI as opposed to flanking.

To clarify, there are two major alert modes aparent in MGS and SC, suspicion, and full alert. If you're talking about full alert in MGS, you have to talk about full alert inSC as well.

No, you don't understand what I'm talking about. Firstly, they don't walk slowly towards you while guards are in alert mode. And though rushing may be a good tactic in some cases, it doesn't mean good ai. Let's say in an FPS games, which is the better ai? T he one that always knows where you are and chases after you shooting or the one who only knows where you are by using sight and sound and use cover? Obviously the latter. Same situation here. And when I play, they're not closing off escap routes, they chased me into there. If I go further throug hte vent, none of theescape routes are surrouned by enemies. Only the one they chased me into. At least the enemies in SC don't blindly charge you.

And as for "suspcion" mode as I call it, (and this is happening to me right now as I'm playing so that I can prove it to myself), I made some loud noises and one guard said "What was that?" then he signaled another guard to come over with his hand and the second guard walking over says "That was probably nothing" then they both approach the point of interest and say "Yeah it was nothing" "There's nothing wrong with being too careful" "All clear" before returning to their orginal patrols.

Hmm? All I see is them running toward me in large groups shooting at me. Then when I hide they still know that I'm there unless the timer drops. You're talking about "alert mode" where they know there's an intruder. You should compare that with Splinter Cell's as well. They don't walk toward you when they're at that kind of an alert mode. They hide behind cover, and flank your spotted location. They don't mindlessly rush after you. Though they do send a couple of people to rush you with some giving support in the back. (This actually happened to me right now in the beginning of Penthouse). If you move to a different location, they won't automatically know where you went like in MGS. They track you down with sight and sound so as long as you don't show yourself or make obvious noises, they won't find you.
