A game is hardcore when it is targeted at the long-time and experienced gamer, who enjoys competitive and challenging gameplay.

The system itself cannot be hardcore by definiton. Genres such as Strategy Games and Tactical Shooters (rare one) are usually very challenging. A casual gamer will be discouraged by its difficulty.

I take no proud in being a ''hardcore'' gamer myself. Ever since I found out my ex-guildies live of a social security/welfare to be able to play World of Warcraft 24/7, I simply lost motivation to do my best in the game.

You can have succes in the game itself, but then what do you contribute to life itself? This is when I realised, casual gamers play for entertainments hours, wich can be any kind of game.

It would be pretty funny if it wasn't Diablo 3. Maybe it wont. The clues seem too obvious.

Too obvious? Blizzard just under estimated what the conspiracy nuts on the internet are capable of :P

I really would've liked it if it was Warcraft 4. But I'd be asking for too much.mo0ksi

I wouldn't be surprised. I would be satisfied with Warcraft 4. But I think the Diablo fans have been patiently waiting, for how long? 10 years?

Its going to be Diablo 3.

If you check the current splash screen, you can see the 2 eyes in the middle.

[QUOTE="PullTheTricker"]

Return of Shinobi is correct actually. I recall Crytek dev having confirmed that the game would run fine on a 7800gtx and C2D 6600, on high details.

I think the game is optimised well enough, but they over hyped their promise a bit.

Nagidar

Thats not what he initially said, he said Crytek stated it would run on Ultra High with a 7800GTX.

Nah Crytek never said on Ultra High. They basicly confirmed that Ultra High would be very demanding and only systems after a year of its original release would be able to smoothly run on Ultra High.

But they did said a C2D + 7800gtx would run it on High. Then after a year of the development, the graphics improved and they said 8800gts 320mb afterwards. But the perfomance still didn't live up people's expectations.

NVIDIA released 8800GT wich did run it very smoothly. And 8800GTS variant was upgraded to compensate with the stronger and cheaper GT.

[QUOTE="MojondeVACA"]bu bu bu teh $3000 PC  :shock:Arsuz

You know, to me this "bu bu bu $3000" meme is getting even more annoying than the people that actually mean it.

Its complete nonsense.

I have 3 systems at home. One of them being a Core 2 Duo 2,6 Ghz, 2GB ram and 8800GT. Me and my brother build the system for 690 euro's. Wish is a very good deal in the long term. PC hardware always lasts very long in my experience.

And still, even if PC hardware is more expensive then consoles. Consoles are very restricted in features. A PC is its money more worthy.

it's probably nothing. they did similar things before. one of them was battle.net update.IgGy621985

Yes they did this when anouncing Starcraft 2. They will obviously anounce a new game. I personally think its Diablo 3.

Or World of the Lost Vikings!

Eh, I'll take Clear Skies.Verge_6

Exactly my thoughts. I'l take S.T.A.L.K.E.R over this anyday.

Crytek has big talent. I wish they didn't waste it away on a game marketed towards graphics whores. Artistic visuals are the priority.

Its starting to get generic for me, blue sea, palm trees etc... *yawn*.

Far Cry was great and fun, but they are over doing it now tbh.
