Not that I really care that much. My poor 'puter is too slow to take advantage of all the bells and whistles, and even if it could, I'm more interested in gameplay than glitter.
To be honest, though, I find myself turning off the music a lot and letting iTunes play in the background instead. Soundtrack music for games, TV, and movies tend to the bombastic, orchestral stuff, like what John Williams writes, and I'm not a fan of it.
OMG, the highly overpriced and overrated colleges use Macs.Gee willikers, i'm gonna go buy a Mac RIGHT NOW just because they use them.BloodMistI've attended 4 different universities and 2 community colleges (don't ask), and Berkeley offered the best education by far. Not only that, but it's a state school, so it's the cheapest of the 4 universities. All I'm saying is that Turing Award-winning computer scientists with very big budgets choose Macs over the most expensive PC's.
And Macs are not just good at "drawing stuff." They're rock-solid stable, have a great interface, networking is a breeze, and they kick a$$ for video and audio. They're also much better designed, more aesthetically pleasing, and far quieter than comparably powered PC's. All your favorite bands use Macs in the studio and on the road, and most big movies have spent time on a Mac's hard drive.
Now, like I said, I prefer PC's because I'm a tinkerer by nature and I'm willing to put up with the quirks and foibles that come with Windows and non-standardized hardware. I'm willing to buy a DFI mobo and spend hours getting the right RAM timings. For those that aren't, Macs are a much better choice than the crashy, crawling, garbage pre-built PC's dumped on consumers by Dell, HP, and friends.
Secondly, the same arguments people are using against Macs on this thread (small market share, knowing what you're getting into, etc, etc) will kill PC gaming in the next ten years. I don't know about you, but I hope that doesn't happen.
[QUOTE="Alaris83"][QUOTE="PutU2REM"]You can't cut someone's arm off and beat them to death with it in Blade of Darkness. You can only cut it off, which is just plain lame. :twisted:krazyorangeI coulda swore I used a goblin arm as a weapon in Blade of Darkness, among other things like chairs, mugs, and cheese. You can; in the first level you can hack someones arm off and beat them with it - it's actually in the PC gamer review also - it was one of the things they liked about the gameMy bad, then. I played the demo for BoD, and I don't remember that. But, it was the demo, after all.
A new one:Ummm ... there's a million games that could fit this bill, but I'm guessing it's this one I played that was made by a "Christian game" developer. I can't remember the name of it, but I remember it being really bad, and definitely not worth searching for.
You play as a holy warrior
You fight the devil
This game is one of the worst games everkrazyorange
My girlfriend wasn't a gamer when I met her for the first time, but I managed to educate her. She wanted to know what on earth made me play all these games and rather than to tell her, I let her experience it by herself. She now plays The Sims II, Rome total war, America's Army and she even did a trow at Farcry.geitenvla:shock: I'm deeply impressed by both you and your girlfriend. You must both be singular people, because you are the first person I've ever heard to say that.
it's either Blade of Darkness or Die By the Sword - both are virtually the same when it comes to decapitation and combat (though DBTS had that nifty move creator)krazyorangeYou can't cut someone's arm off and beat them to death with it in Blade of Darkness. You can only cut it off, which is just plain lame.
Anyway, yes, it's Die by the Sword. I'm hoping someone will ressurrect the free-form sword combat thing sometime, because I had a blast, even though the game was rife with problems.
