Some comments for the motherboard suggest that the board wont post unless compatible (selected) RAM is inserted. Alright, I tested my RAM one by one but my motherboard still fails to post. I'll build it again and see if I can somehow fix it that way.
I exchanged my motherboard, gpu, dvd drive, and cpu for a newer one. When I try to boot my computer it starts up but no signal is received by my monitor. All the fans appear to be working as well as motherboard lights. What I think it could be is the PSU is not up to snuff with the rest of the components. Sometimes the system will start up but then would reset after a couple of seconds. Here is the part list. What tests can I perform? CPU Heatsink: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 GPU: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-4GD GeForce GTX 770 4GB PSU: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V RAM: Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (Correctly seated) Could the problem be the unformatted old HDD? Thanks a bunch for the help guys
I know very little about the current motherboard brands and specifications. Do I really need a Z87 in order for the entire computer to last longer? Alright well, I'm willing to change the board for this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128591
It isn't difficult man, you're just making it seem so difficult in your head because you're thinking about it too much. It's not getting the girl that is the problem, it's trying to gain some confidence in yourself that is the problem. I had this problem too during my early years of college; there was just too few girls around. There are two ways to gain some confidence. Find a good friend and tell him your problem so he'll help you out while you approach. He'll give you the confidence to at least get denied. It'll be easier next time The other one that was recommended to me was to just talk to random strangers, whether it be male or female. I find talking to older ladies makes me more comfortable around people. By the way, I wasn't going to post but I really wanted to know why that frat denied you.
Alright guys, I'm bringing up this post again because I'm finalizing the list of parts I'm going to buy but it's a lot of money. I want to make sure that all of the specific parts are going to last me a while if I'm going to spend $700 on all of them. To update on the bracket situation, I bought a new plastic bracket and reapplied thermal paste with the stock cooler. My idle temperatures for the Phenom 965 is around 40 degrees celcius and my max load is around 74 degrees celcius. It seems to be running pretty hot considering my cpu starts having problems at around 79 degrees celcius. Because of this, I decided to go ahead and spend the money to upgrade. I just hope the parts will last me 3 years like my old ones. If you guys have any recommendations or parts that perform the same but is cheaper defintely let me know! Updated parts list: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 770 2GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125463 COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899 MSI H87-G43 Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130697 I am really starting to consider just a 760 with 4GB of Vram though. It's around $100 cheaper.
