[QUOTE="xxgunslingerxx"]

if ur pc can handle it
u get better graphics, better control, faster paced game

other wise u can choose the 360 verisons and get auto aim, and a slowed down/dumbed down verison

... i find it kind of weird that you would have a gaming pc and a 360 considering that 90% of 360 games are bigger and better on pc

wmc540

Prove that 90%... I will be waiting.

It seems you didn't get his message. I believe what he's trying to say is that 90% of the multiplat games will run better on PC given you have a solid enough rig. This I can prove very easily.

i bought it in oct 20 07 and there were no 60 gbs

Yeah the 60 gig models might be hard to find in some areas now. I would have opted for the 80 gig if they didn't pull the 100% backward compatibility. But ya never know.. at the rate their going I'de say all but a few rare games will be compatible in a few years.

I can also contribute to this forum. I tried Mosquito in the 80 gig and to my surprise it works! I was actually stunned by it because I wasn't expecting it to work at all. It's a hard to find but fun japanese style game that's like a guilty pleasure and time killer. Anyhow, it worked.

Is this a joke thread?

Tried em both out on 360 and believe me you'll have tons more fun on PC. No offense but I don't think they belong on anything other than PC. It's like watching a mute person enter a yelling contest.

Call of Duty looks alot better on my rig then the 360 version (even on pioneer plasma), and feels alot smoother too with a nice logitech setup.. you just get more done!

Orange Box I'll admit was borderline acceptable on console if you don't have a solid rig. But if you have something even remotely state of the art in your rig, your standards should be (by default) higher. Why settle for less?

What kind of rig you got exactly?

As long as Far Cry 2 isn't dumbed down any now that it's going to consoles, then I'll be alright. Far Cry is a game that NEEDS to remain exclusive to PC. Far Cry 2: Instincts is acceptable, but not Far Cry 2. Again.. I'm hoping the X360 version will come later.. or if released at same time then PC remains platform of choice.

Otherwise, my interest in pc gaming may come to a screeching halt.

BOOM!!! I can recover my files!!

I've been asking on other forums as well and found out about Elcomsoft.com. I downloaded the Advanced EFS Data Recovery demo and I was able to get the encryption keys from my previous install. Then it was able to bring up all of my files and said it was able to recover them all.

However, it cost $99 to activate the recover option. So that's kinda outta the question. But at least I know that there is something out there that can recover windows ecryption keys. Now that I know this, I'm sure I'll find something somehow to get my old files. In the meantime, I'm hanging onto my old drive until then. I'm in no rush really.

So thanks alot guys for all the help. Unless anyone else knows of a freeware program to do this heh.

Not to rain on your parade, but unless you can either manage to restore and boot up to the Windows install which encrypted the files (highly unlikely, as by now at least some hard-drive blocks which those files resided in have been overwritten) and then decrypt them.

Or if you can manage to restore the original non encrypted files.

Becuase they are encrypted, even if you manage to get them on your new PC, they won't open.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna try my damnest to restore the original non encrypted files.. then mess around with them.

Btw, you didn't rain on my parade.. YOU FLOODED IT!! LOL :P

Just thought of something else to share...

I originally had these on a 160gig harddrive, then moved them to my external drive. I then took the 160gig out to install in another computer and put in a new 250gig drive. This 250gig drive is what I'm using now. However, I reinstalled windows on both harddrives, so the original drive has been reformated.

So.... I'm thinking of two things I can try.

1) Go to the other computer with my old drive and connect my external and try to gain access since it was my original drive. I seriously doubt this will work.

2) Get my old drive and run some restore program, to restore a previous partition and files. Just with any luck I can restore my files. Once restored, I can allow them to be shared. Then transfer to external. This sounds most logical.

Does anyone know of a program that can restore partitions/files that were deleted? I did a standard reformat procedure. Nothing fancy.
