$5 bucks a month....seriously! If you can't afford that you are probably one of the young annoying gamers online that can't just play to have fun and be a good sport.
Johnr2806 since you decided to yell out your crazy problems with Halo I feel the need to make a counter argument. I really don't know where to start with what you have typed. The ranking system isn't a point per win system. Sometimes you will go up a point, sometimes 2, sometimes not at all. Bungie has explained that the system is looking at a number of things about how you play and that determines your ranking. Little kids online yelling....how the heck is Bungie going to stop that? Xbox live has a number of things built in for any game that can help with bad players. Simple setting a player as someone you want to avoid should help but the best option is the wonderful mute button, problem solved. The whole problem with jumping and weapon designs is simply a matter of your opinon. I have been in plenty of matches where people only jumped when it was to avoid fire or to get around. I think all weapons provide a ton of variety and strategy within a battle. This isn't Rainbow 6, It's going to take a little to actually kill someone. If you perfect your skills getting head shots will make things a little easier. In my opinon I think Bungie went above and beyond what I wanted from a new Halo game. The only thing I want is more maps to do battle on. Bungie has already stated that those are on the way : )
Halo 3 the biggest disappointment? What the heck are you guys playing? If you don't like shooters thats fine but I just don't understand hating a game because a ton of people like it. If Halo 3 is your worst game this generation I seriously question your ability to judge a game. My worst pick that I played would be Two Worlds.
Of course the same thing will happen next summer. So just wait and play some of these games next year. I feel your pain but I am not about to complain about a ton of great games coming out.
I think any game you play is a ranked game. However, there is no way to ruin your rank since you can only gain EXP. You will never drop in rank for losing. In fact you still get a end round bonus even when your team loses.
It's is important to note that a games score is a review of the entire product. Not just the single player experience. Most of the praise that Halo gets is due to the massive amount of content in multiplayer. Both are amazing games with excellent multiplayer. Halo just pretty much beats any other game for amount of options you have to customize the experience online.
It really has nothing to do with the developers. It's more of a competition between Sony and Microsoft. They both have completely differen't online setups. (or lack of an online setup...ohhhh sorry Sony fanboys)
