Soldner-X came out on the PSN a couple weeks ago and after spending a considerable amount of time on the game, I'm really enjoying it! The word "shmup" isn't too common nowadays. Games like Gradius or R-Type are probably the most popular space shoot-em-ups, but the shmup genre returns to form here.

At $9.99 there's a ton of replay value, but that's only if you don't mind the intense difficulty so be warned that this is a pretty hardcore title. It's not as accessable as Super Stardust HD, but if you invest the time it is extremely rewareding. The crisp 1080p visuals and the suprisingly good soundtrack further compliment the overall package.

I don't mean to sound like a spokesperson for the game. I just think Soldner-X will be overlooked in the obviously crowded season. It's a really solid, but difficult shooter and IGN has a review up if you're interested.

Any other thoughts from those who played it, too? Hit me up on PSN if you have the game :D

I'm obviously not a major PC gamer, so I'm just trying to upgrade on the cheap. I found this 9500 GT for $49.99 and I noticed the specs are certainly better, but I don't have a real clue as to how much better it would actually perform. Here are my basic PC specs just in case: Intel (R) Pentium (R) D CPU @ 3.00 GHz, 2.0 GB of RAM, GeForce 7800 GTX, Direct X 9.0, Windows XP Professional. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

I'll take any flavor of Jones or a good old-fashioned Root Beer.

Yes, I have heardof Billy Talent, and I think they're pretty good (Devil in a Midnight Mass is my favorite of their songs). Oh and as the other poster said I've heard of Alexisonfire, too. Funny enough, the first time I heard both these bands was on a video game soundtrack. I heard Billy Talent on Burnout 3 and Alexisonfire on MLB 07: The Show.

How does it work? As in how do they make any money? Ads?pandadude01

Yeah, it's like google or ask.com. There'sa little "Sponsered Links" section and that's where they say they get their prizes or money.

Basically, Winzy is like google, only everytime you make a search, you earn a chance to win prizes (Blingo is the same, butis only available in US). From what I've heard the whole thing is pretty legit and winning a prize is actuallya common occurance(prizes range from Amazon gift certificates, to Ipods, to $1000). I personally haven't won anything yet, because I've only been a memberfor afew days.

This isn't spam or anything, I'm seriously just curious. Has anyone ever used a service like this? If anyone's interested there's a link in my sig (I could use more friends :) ).

Here in North Texas, our semester finals are AFTER the winter break. Anyone else have their finals then? Personally I think it's really lame... :|

I think it can be, just not as often as others. Movies like Psyco, The Exorcist,The Shining, and Jaws (I considerit to horror)are very well respected among critics and movie-goers alike.
