[QUOTE="Zero_epyon"] I still see apple ads although not as much. The reason is because windows 7 was released, covering most the flaws that were apparent in vista, which apple exploited. So did MS stoop to their level with their I'm a PC campaign where they paid people to not chose a Mac?Zero_epyon

The funny thing is they did not pay people to buy a pc lol they gave people a budget of about 900 bucks and with the specs and tasks they wanted to accomplish said find a computer.. Well.. Find me an apple computer under 900 bucks..

Which was the entire point of the commercial. The cost to usage difference.

Well no there was no budget. They said pick any computer you want an we'll pay for it. Amazingly no one picked up the mac and bought a laptop that was a PC. Therefore, the point was even with any budget people will buy a PC which i just don't believe.

I don't believe it either, and it also seems that alot of people here forgot that the MAC's are the only computers that can run both OS-X and Windows, and that is something you will never see on a PC. So if i wanted to i could put Windows on my MAC and then what would this discussion get reduced to ?, Oh wait let me guess upgradeability right, you can't upgrade a MAC, right isn't that what PC fans would say, well just like DELL the MAC website let's you customize and build your MAC to your specifications, so after all that why shouldn't people buy or switch to a MAC ?

Let's be realistic though. Finding an Apple computer thats actually cheaper than the competition is like finding a penguin in the desert. Sure, eventually you probably will find something. But is it worth the searching? Not usually. Is it commonly found? No, of course not.

That's just it MAC's don't have to be cheaper because they are one of a kind, Apple makes the OS and the hardware, so they can charge what they want. It's like saying well why would i go shopping for a Ferrari when i can buy this Hyundai alot cheaper, there is only one Ferrari and to own one you have to be willing to spend the money, and as far as i'm concerned MAC's are the Ferraris of computers. You can find a PC in any Wal-Mart / Flea Market across the country for dirt cheap, yeah that's great, but i've always believed that "you get what you pay for". So to buy a MAC you have to go to the handful of selected stores that sell them.

Funny story more people use Microsoft Office, and MS had to go out of there way and make Office Mac compatible because IWork is a joke, and no serious business person would use Iwork for spreadsheets, or basic document use such as Word.

Fizzman

Okay, and more people use itunes then any other online music service, and more people use Quicktime than any other media player so Apple had to make those PC compatible, so what's your point ?

Quicktime is garbage, so IDK why you brought that up. Apple had no choice to bring Itunes over because 90% of Ipod owners owned PCs.

Yeah, ok, quicktime is crap thats why Windows started using it before and after they developed Windows media player, as for 90% of ipod owners being PC owners, you have a link or chart that proves that until then just your opinion.

[QUOTE="dream431ca"]

Why are they getting such a bap rep? Look at their adds. All they do is insult Microsoft. They don't explain anything about their product, just insults. That may work in politics, but it's really bad for business. Notice the adds are pulled? I haven't seen any of those adds for about a month. Maybe MS got tired of Apple spewing insults rather than showing their product.

tempest91

They pulled their adds because Windows 7 is spanking Snow Leopard which is becoming Apple's "vista". Their marketshare has taken a substantial dip (as if it wasn't low enough) since the launch of both OS's.

Oh really can you show me these profit charts you have of where it shows Windows 7 skyrocketing above the sales of Snow Leopard or even Leopard, because i seriously doubt Windows 7 will catch up to the software sales of Leopard any time soon.

[QUOTE="stereointegrity"][QUOTE="RPG-explorer"]Look this is an age old battle, but the truth is Apples market share has increased over the past 5 years because, not only are people seeing that MAC's are more aesthetically pleasing to the eye but there also easier to use, and are not bogged down with gigs worth of useless software such as spyware and antivirus. PC users today consist of either business men and women who are forced to use PC's because there isn't yet an Apple equivalent program available, or the other type of PC user who has just been using PC's so long and so blindly there afraid of trying anything else. Some you to will realize the truth about which is better...it's just a matter of time. Fizzman

hahahahahaha good way to pass ur opinion off as anything factual....PC is only used for business people? wtf haha pc bogged down with anti virus? pc users cant find mac equivalent programs?

[QUOTE="RPG-explorer"][QUOTE="tirralirra"] I believe most of Macs OS are built up from the old ones whereas W7 was developed from the ground up. I'm not sure so anyone can correct me on this. oh and W7 beats Snow Leopard so MS wins the OS round this time.Fizzman

I would like to see an article or link that says that Windows 7 beat Snow Leopard because last i heard Snow Leopard was the most advanced operating system on the planet.

ok you are definitely trolling at this point. Not even the most die-hard Steve Jobs loving maniac would make such absurd statements.

Infact i did hear Steve Jobs say those exact words, i know he's the most biased of them all, but after that statement and after Leopard and Snow Leopard were released, a bunch of websites and magazines backed him up.

But my whole stance on the PC vs Apple issue is this: I used to have a Macbook Pro that I got a couple years ago, but my screen just randomyl died one day, my warranty was up, and apple wanted something ridiculous like $700 to fix it, which i opted not to do because that's BS. I loved my macbook though, especially since I already had a gaming PC. So my final stance is this..if I were to get a laptop, I would get a MAc, if I were to get a Desktop, then it would be a PC.kittyloaf69
Wow that is unfortunate but Apple does offer every Applecare member a chance to renew there plan coverage for another 3 years for like $99.00 when your original plan runs out.

If you had more than 17 posts, I'd probably be really annoyed by the fact that you keep insisting that OSX doesn't need any sort of antivirus. But since you've only got 17 posts, I'm going to assume you're some sort of troll and refuse to feed you.

Well i don't know what trolling is, i know what a troll is, mythological creature in similar size to a hobbit but not as attractive i think. However all i'm doing is supporting my computer of choice based on my experience over the past 20 years with both MAC and PC's.
