I would expect bf3 to break 10 million units. With cod north of 15 million.

There is alot of the cod community who is just tired of rehashed games.

MW3 if it shows will be another average fps, with nothing new.

James161324

15 million? What a flop! At least 25 million for MODERN WARFARE 3. And 5 million Tops for BF3.

All 20 of those maps combined will probably be the size of one bf3 map.

R4gn4r0k

I dont play sizes.

Actually you do

And MAG is the best game ever?

Quality >> Quantity, son. No matter the size of the BF maps, the CoD ones will always be better and more fun to play.

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]The top FPS... players of *other* games I imagine? Is that because they get their ass kicked when they against exceedingly skilled COD veterans?Lucianu

No, its because CoD is factually, without one single shred of a doubt, a joke of a 'game' designed for casuals and teenagers.

So, wen a Counter Strike, or UT '99 veteran plays something as incredibly easy and dumbed down as CoD, they immediately win every single time without any effort, providing 0 challenge and ultimately 0 entertainment, hence claiming its a complete joke.

After all, it *is* incredibly popular for a reason. Its incredibly easy to get into it and get good at it. That's about the only thing its got going, but unfortunately playing with mediocre trash isn't going to last, so Activision need to release a game, basically 100% the same with the same horribly outdated engine, each year, to keep the casuals and teenagers with minuscule attention spans, hooked. Even a 5 year old can own at CoD, and the campaign is such a pathetic excuse of a joke simply because it plays itself at how streamlined and casualized it is.

Now man, why don't you take a guess if i was serious or not ^^^, you'll be having a surprise..

Lol, I'd like to play a CoD game with a "CS pro", would be so own raping him.

Yet they manage to score AAA! Pretty good for expansions, no? Open your eyes and stop dreaming BF fanboys! The end is near.

LordSadic

Id pay $60 for MW engine with 20 new maps, new guns, and One Man Army/NoobTubes taken out of the game.

So basically you are willing to pay $60 bucks for an expansion. No wonder why the industry is as **** up as it is.

This joke seemingly never gets old...

If MW3 sells less than black ops, I will be happy that Battlefield 3 put a nice blow to the CoD machine. Oh and the best thing about it is that all the stupid kids gonna be buying MW3 and we wont have to listen to them shouting and squeiking on chat while we play a superior game which will be bought by the mature community: BF3.

argetlam00

1. Nobody is buying BF3.

2. Nobody cares about BF3.

3. MW3 will in no way sell less than BO; the BO teaser attracted 81k viewers in 48 hours, the MW3? 3 million+.

4. BF doesn't have mature community. There are a lot of screaming fanboys on there.

Cod is the same formula we have seen since 1 basically so your point is about as good as the government in the uk.

Pokemon's never been released as frequently as CoD either. Each installment is usually a 2 games (essentially the same diffrent covers) and a new island/pokemon.

Whats Cod, new engine, rehashed MP with a few more gimmicks thrown on and a decent SP romp that is so short you would be aswell paying for the cinema cause its a hell of a lot cheaper or even buying a film now.

And Cod is a AAA franchise?

oh dear thats AA.Waits for impending damage control.

razgriz_101

Well, too bad CoD in recent memory is AAA. Too bad it's never scored below 8 (Pokémon LoL). Too bad, in stead of declining in quality like Pokémon, it's rising in quality, becoming better and better with every instalment. Too bad MW3 will be AAA, and the next Pokémon at most AA.

Those are all current gen CoD games and WaW was only 3 years ago which wasnt long ago in my book.

And too bad MW3 will be overrated tripe much like bands who charge overpriced fees for their tickets and end up being average compared to that little gem found in a small venue. But everyone will still follow the big band out of sheer ignorance towards respective genre, typical human sheep behaviour aswell.

Btw im not a hipster im just saying MW3 will most likely be overpriced tripe, more of the same old same old generica oh noez america is fighting russia we've had for the past 4 years with a rehashed boring as hell MP much like Metallica (even tho i do have a great deal of respect for the band members and their early material much in the same vein as CoD)

Let's see if you're going to repeat this next week, when gameplay is shown that's completely going to overshadow BF3.

Then continue hanging on something that no one gives cares about. No one is crying over how pokemon puzzle league is being made annually, and is ruining the puzzle game genre. No one is crying over how pokemon ranger has imitation after imitation and is over saturating the market. It's pretty damn apparent why no one compares how Nintendo milks pokemon versus Activision with COD, but if you wanna keep repeating the same thing after ~300 comments over and over again, who am I to stop you. I'm just answering the TC's question flat out.

Renegade_Fury

Wow, you're trying way too hard.

Give it up, just because Nintendo doesn't release Pokémon now as frequently as they used to in the past, doesn't mean that we will forget about how they used to milk the series to death. Not to mention Pokémon has been declining in popularity recently. At least CoD is an AAA franchise!!!

GameSpot:

  • It's the same Pokemon formula you've seen before.

And people are complaining about CoD being milked... Face it, CoD will never come near to Pokémon-milkage.

Trying too hard? Pokemon releases a new game in the series after 3 years, and COD has come out with 8 games in 7 years. COD has become the source of imitation for every other FPS in the genre, and has become the staple franchise for the casual market. That is why no one cares about pokemon; it stays in its own bubble. Story/campaign wise, and appearance wise, yes, it is always the same. That, I have no problem calling out Nintendo on, and that is what the review is going after. Gameplay wise, however, it has changed a lot. People who are into battling know how stats have changed with IV's, EV's, weather, etc. Those are fundamental alterations in gameplay mechanics, so for the guy who loves to battles, those are big changes. However, I'm not arguing that pokemon has changed a lot, nor do I care for it either that much anymore. That said, it has changed more and for the better unlike COD, which has become reliant on perks and nonsensical storylines. COD has infected all other FPS since COD4 with its garbage. Pokemon never did that, and that is why no one hates it. I think it's quite an easy concept to get.

So basically, what you're saying is that it's the lazy developers' fault, not IW's or Cod's or Activision's.

What else is there to hate on...well, they're lazy developers to the core, their games don't run well on PCs, they consistently give big f*** yous to PC gamers, and Modern Warfare 2 was a bug-ridden mess of a game for the PC. So that pretty much rules out me buying another one of their titles.

airshocker

??

Modern Warfare 2 was absolutely fantastic on the PC. I can agree that Black Ops was horrible on the PC, but MW2 was a godly version.

No, otherwise I'm sure Wii Sports would have been AAA, like COD...

Yup, I'm sure if they paid for reviews like Activision did, it would of scored well too. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010/11/call-of-duty-black-ops-review-event-press-gifts-detailed.ars

Lol, the conspiracy!
