Because pokemon is actually fun, its pretty unique in its genre and if you actually play pokemon you would know the mechanics are constantly changing and to stay competitive you have to evolve with the game.

ActicEdge

CoD is 100 times more entertaining than Pokémon.

Seriously, 18 people Ground War, LAN party, Scrapyard, Headquarters. It ain't gettin' no better!

Ah well, I've got an open mind for this one. Hopefully it will actually bring something new to the FPS table, rather than be a re-hash of the previous games again.LeftHand-Path

Absolutely. One of the news is that they're bringing destructibility and bigger battlefields into existence.

Could you just make a hype thread and update that instead of making threads?

Yangire

I think it's too early for a Hype thread, but what do you think of the amazing site?

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="mitu123"]No, it's coming in November, the beta is in October.mitu123
Well, then BF3 is doomed. Oh well.

Unless they change the dates, but they say they want to compete against COD, so I doubt there's going to be a change in date.

Maybe they should get a life, in stead of trying to compete with the biggest game of all time?

I honestly doubt it will affect the sales of games like Uncharted 3 and Skyrim. Both of those have a fairly different market than MW3. At this point if you're getting all three MW3 is probably the one you would put off since it's going to be so similar to the other games in the series, you know what you're getting already so there's really no point in anticipating it. I doubt the majority of COD buyers even know what The Elder Scrolls is.Ace6301

People will be playing MW3 for years...

After completing Skyrim and U3, few gamers will go back to the games...

[QUOTE="wis3boi"][QUOTE="lazerface216"]

why do you hope it bombs? because you happen to not like it? get over yourself.

ChrisSpartan117

this series is hurting the industry big time, it needs to end

But isn't that the fault of the people reacting to it, rather than the actual series itself?

Exactly. MW, an AAA franchise, is fine just the way it is. Now, if unoriginal developers have nothing better to do, than copy the series and implement similar features into their games, that's their problem.

All I can say is that I hope there is a buy 2 get 1 free sale in mid-late November (Toys'r'us almost always has one at this time). Uncharted 3, BF3, and MW3-- that would be the best b2g1f sale ever.

GojiMaster

U3, Skyrim and BF3 should all just be delayed.

Modern Warfare 3 Release Date Could Change November Lineup

"Activision has announced First Person Shooter Modern Warfare 3: America Under Siege and begun the massive marketing campaign that we all knew was inevitably coming to us this year from the Call of Duty camp (see what I did there?). Call of Duty titles typically move other games out of the way. When their November release dates are announced you can see each year that a great deal of major titles position themselves to be outside of the November release window as to not clash with the First Person Shooter titan. This year things will likely go the same route, or will it?

With 2011 we have a rare situation for Call of Duty as a franchise to face. There are a great deal of heavyweight First Person and Third Person shooters heading to release within the holiday time frame, November is crowded this year and it doesn't look like anyone is backing down.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: America Under Siege is going up against the likes of Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3. Mass Effect 3 and Gears of War 3 were thought to be November releases but have since moved themselves out of this field of competition while Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3 remain strong. There is a potential that these could be delayed or pushed ahead of schedule to avoid the clash as well."

"As it stands, gamers are in for an incredible November. But what if Activision is uncomfortable with allowing their latest Call of Duty title to be compared from a qualitative state between the likes of Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3? Would it be possible that this time around the giant may consider re-thinking its release date strategy, or will they stand their ground? Gamers need to be picky with their hard-earned dollars these days and Activision will want to maximize sales any way they can. It feels like November is a month where shooters will look at each other and say "there ain't room enough for the both of us".

More details on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: America Under Siege are sure to drop at this year's E3 this June. Only time will tell for sure the outcome of this competitive genre's holiday release season for 2011. CLICK HERE to check out a trailer for Call of Duty: MW3."
