@Thunderstarter For reals. I read your comment before I watched the video. I still wasn't prepared.

A sexist poem:

Women put on makeup

Men put on pants

Game journalists put on their outraged-by-sexism face

Whenever they get a chance.

@CaesarIIII You're kidding, right? Judging by the comments it's very few people dislike feedbackula. Anyway, I'm not sure who "the community" is (the gaming community, the gamespot community, the greendale 7, a new cult?) but I image there's lots things that divide them more than feedbackula. Whether PS3 or Xbox 360 is better, whether PCs are better than consoles, whether EA or Activision sucks more intensely all divide the gaming community. If you mean the gamespot community, well, nothing makes me want to be a part of it less than stupid comments, so I'm glad to see some of these people get their comeuppance. I highly doubt I'm alone in this. Also, Pierce is a B and I doubt the greendale 7 watches feedbackula.

@NTM23 I don't see why you think this at all. The action-horror genre contains almost entirely third person games. It seems reasonable to assume that what prompted this focus was a third person game. Second, shooters have long dominated the video game market and copied from the most successful shooter. Before call of duty, halo sold tons of games and before halo, golden eye sold tons of games. Why the success of COD--but not halo or goldeneye--revolutionize horror gaming? Third, we all know why shooters sell: because winning is most fun when it involves your friends taking a shotgun to the face! If COD was the influence, we'd expect action horror to place a large emphasis on multiplayer especially deathmatch. Although some horror games include co-op, few if any include deathmatch and neither is a major marketing emphasis. I get that everyone wants to blame COD for everything but, here, RE4 is seems a more plausible influencer.

@alrepairs Why? Did they teach you to argue so well in college? But, just fyi, I've taught college courses and if you're half as dumb, assume half as much or argue half as poorly as your previous comment would suggest, I'd have failed you.

@alrepairs There's a lot of nintendo fanboys out there and a lot of anti-nintendo fanboys (nintendo anti-fanboys? nintendo hater-boys? Idk), but we may have our first anti-gamestop-because-(some)-gamestops-were-nintendo-anti-fanboys.

Ahhh. That feels good. For a bit there I thought the world had gone crazy, that we might actually rethink the way this country approaches mental health or something and never get around to blaming video games. It's good to see things getting back to normal.

@BestJinjo @abHS4L88 @Tekken312 That's evidence for my point. The average amongst those that own at least one least one console has to be higher than 1 unless everyone who owned 1 owned only 1. When doing averages the upper and lower limits matter quite a lot. In this the upper limit is quite high (at least 8 consoles have come out since the PS1), while the lower limit is 1. The fact that the number is much closer to 1 than the upper limit tells you something. What you want is the *median*.

@abHS4L88 @Tekken312 It's all new for Wii U owners that don't own another system and most people don't own multiple systems.

@ DarpSyX: Of the two of us, one of us has admitted to judging a game without playing it. But yes I did play Mass Effect 3. And no, Kratos 2K, ME3 is not an amazing game. In many ways the game's rep benefitted from having a terrible ending that distracted from the rest of it's flaws. Here's an incomplete list of non-starchild problems: (1) there's an overabundance of fetch quests (2) Our choices in previous games had no real affect on the outcome (3) The quest menu is not helpful. (4) The villains. ME2 spent the whole game setting up Harbinger as the main villain and ME3 just ignores him. Cerberus gets as much (if not more) screen time than the reapers, but turns out to just be a pawn of the reapers. So we've got no individual antagonist to interact with. Worse, Cerberus's actions make no sense (why do they care if we solve the Krogan's genophage?), so it's obvious that they are being manipulated by the reapers. But worst of all, (5) uniting the galaxy makes no difference. All that matters is that Shepard get onto the citadel and use the crucible. The galaxy only needs a force large enough to distract the reapers so Shepard can get beamed up to the citadel.Having sold my copy of ME3, what I miss most is the combat. Tells you something I think.
