@morningwood: Microsoft's decision to release every xbox game for windows is a recent thing. Though, granted, there weren't a ton of xbox exclusives before they decided to release on each.
@CaptainBerserk: These awards are given by the academy (actors, directors, editors, etc.) to the academy. They don't need an excuse to reward themselves.
@scottyp360: Sure they can advertise it that way, but I don't think awards shows should be taking that into account when they give out awards. (Not saying you think that, just saying why I think the complaint is misguided.) And besides, do you really think the people who line up for SS2 really care about academy awards? And that if they did care about academy awards, then they wouldn't know that this won one in a pretty minor category. It's a super small segment of the population that's going to be misled by this award.
@fohox: AMD's given journalists hands on some games and has performed well compared to intel (https://youtu.be/3rUndzpdo1I?t=449). That's not the same as sending out review copies, but it's not nothing either.
"Makeup and Hairstyling." Not script. Not direction. Not acting. Not overall best picture. Just "Makeup and Hairstyling." If you have a problem with that, because you think some other movies had better makeup and hair, then fine. But don't whine because a movie that in every other way, got rewarded for the one thing it did pretty damn well.
