@analgrin: Well, I gave two reasons why I wouldn't. One was that mods become obsolete and incompatible with other mods. That's like paying for DLC you might not be able to use. No thank you.

But second, reputable modders are different than reputable companies. Modders don't have as much to lose. With a company like Bethesda, games are their livelihood and will continue to be. If they don't put out a quality product, or don't support the product, then not only will their livelihood be damaged in the short term, but people will get gun shy about their *next* game. Case in point: after dishonored 2, there's no way I'm buying Prey at launch. For modders this is a side business and they could up and leave at any time. And indeed many do. Look back at the most popular mods for Oblivion; you'll see that a lot of those guys just had left the modding scene by the time Skyrim came out.

I hold nothing against modders trying to get paid for their work, but I'm never going to pay them. Sorry, but I'm just not paying for content that's not backed by a reputable company and guaranteed to work with and not be rendered irrelevant by all other paid content for a game. Mods aren't ever going to be that.

@Blade_Runner_07:Yeah, I suppose it's hard to argue with "better late than never."

At this point, Bioware talks a better game than they create.

@gns: Well, ME:A is going open world, so I'd expect more of that.
