I rented it earlier today and I'll have to say I'm beginning to agree with the review.
I mean, the graphics are pretty amazing for Spider-Man, but the human models look weird to say the least. Tobey Maguire's eyes are bugged out like he's looking for a fix. Swinging around the city is pretty awesome, and the first time you barrel through Times Square, you'll understand that the web-swinging was the obvious focus of the developers. When you're fighting, that's where things start to fall apart. You're limited to just a few attacks, most of which send the camera spinning wildly as it tries to stay behind you.
Ahh, the camera, this is the reason the game is not that great. You simply can never figure out where you are. There's a mission where you're supposed to follow a helicopter early in the game, and I just had no idea where the hell I was going. The camera is hugely problematic, and when you couple that with the fact that the fighting is limp, the game begins to fray at the edges.
The game is probably worth a rent, just for the amazing model of Spider-Man and the web-swinging alone, but I would really advise against buying the game
