good game overall.
Brendan Marshall had two sweet catches tonight.....

[QUOTE="DA_B0MB"][QUOTE="duxup"]Pathetic is not acting like a pro but collecting a paycheck as one. The fines should be accordingly large. There is no violation of freedom of speech, you need to brush up on that topic.duxupChad Ochocinco is one who's easy to not think of too kindly if you don't find his sense of humor funny, but Urban Meyer's fine of $30,000 is a just an absolute mockery. .And at the very least freedom of speech certainly isn't encouraged if it could potentially cost you $20,000+. Urban Meyer's didn't know the rules? He knew, he pays the price. I actually enjoy Ochocinco much of the time, but the dude should pay the piper. Freedom of Speech isn't relevant here.
Freedom of speech is relevant here. You can critisize people of other professions for not doing their job, so why not refs? How would you like a mechanic to not fix your engine properly....you complain because he screwed up.....and you get a fine for voicing your opnion.
same thing goes for referees, their a profession, they should be critisized just like normal people can and the person not fined.
One of the most memorable NFL plays in the past three years has to be Brady's 50th touchdown to Moss (who broke single season td record on the same play). I remember watching tha game, such an awsome play and definitely unexpected because they'd just tried that. It also gave the pats the lead on the way to going perfect in the regular season (despire superbowl loss 16- 0 was still pretty impressive).
Finally......
no offense to Kerry collins but vince should've start a long time ago. I find it odd that a qb who leads his team from 2 - 7 to 8-8 in hsi rookie year (might not be exact but it was something like that) and the playoffs in his second season is considered a bust.... okay his stats are not great, but he still found ways to win
I mean if jamarcus is still starting Vince sure as hell better be. I think he got the raw end of the deal with being bench for collins. I mean collins was not the reason that titans tema went 13 - 3 last year, vince would had had similar success. I have no idea why fisher is in love with collins......he would've kept starting him if the owner did not insist vicne was played.

Non of the old greats had a 6 ' 7 370 pound mario willaims running full speed at them. QBs need protection. The sports being getting dangerous because the caliber of atheletes (speed size and strength) is unparalleled today. Sorry to older people who watched football in the past, but its true.

actually no it's not true, maybe you should brush up on your knowledge of some actual NFL greats
Deacon Jones says Hi
he was faster than Mario Williams, stronger and would have been the NFL sacks leader if the league recorded sacks at the time he first started playing. The guy was ahead of his time and had the athletic ability of most Defensive Ends today
Mario Willaims is 370 pounds vs jones who is listed at 272though the video said 260....yea that sure makes deacon stronger. 6"5 272lbs vs 6"7 370 pounds who would you pick as stronger? As for whos faster well I never found Jone's 40 yard time, so if you say hes faster I'd like some proof.
This is one player you mentioned to argue past football players are as good as modern day ones. The fact is the modern day 2000 era nfl players are more likely to hurt quaterbacks simply because thy are, bigger, strongerand more dangerous athletes than the guys of the 70's. I know it angers vets and older football fans to say that, but its true.
Ray Lewis was right, Quarterbacks are still men playing the game aren't they? What we got a flash of last week with the Ravens vs. Patriots is becoming a plague on the NFL. Ravens vs. Bengals and Titans vs. Colts and probably other games I've missed.
I realise that the Colts would still have won the game tonight but that 'roughing the passer' call where the Titan defender got pushed into Manning is just more nonsense.
I guess they should just tie ribbons onto QBs where you have to pull it off to stop them and declare it a severe penalty just for touching them even by accident. All the greats that use to play the game must be laughing at the NFL these days...
I'm all for breast cancer awareness but all this pink really symbolizes something else about the state of affairs in the league.

correction all the greatsare jealous they never received this protection, so they go on rants about how easy players have it today. The rules are important and protection is needed. sports illustrated made a good article on QB protection and one good point was the difference in size and speed.

Obviously the league protects QBs because they bring in sales no one can deny that.
10 - 6 last week puts me at 29 - 19 on the year.
my picks
Tampa Bay vs. Washington - I like Josh Johnson to make a statement and lead the bucs to a win
Bal vs NE - ravens win a very close match
DET vs CHI - nice to see lions get a win last week, don't see it happening this week. bears win
TEN vs JACK - this is the week. TEN wins
OAK vs HOU - Texans win
CIN vs CLE - Bengals win
SEA vs INDY - Seattle wins......my upset, its definitely a reach, but hey who knows
NYG vs KC - Giants win
BUF vs MIAMI - if pennington was playing then maybe miami wins, but without him. Buffalo wins
NO vs NYJ - gonna to be real close. I think jets are a nightmare matchup for saints passing. Still I like the saints running game to give them a win. Saints win.
STL vs SF - 49ers beat up on rams to avenge last weeks heart breaker.
DAL vs DEN - broncos win
SD vs PIT - a desperate steeler team gets the win
GB vs MIN - Vikings win.
that last throwing was amazing. The whole game was awsome to watch. I'm still shocked the Vikings won. At first I thought the receiver was going to be out of bounds, but when I saw the replay, wow...just amazing job by the wide receiver to keep his feet in bounds.
A 9 - 7 week two leaves me at 19 - 13 on the year.
Kansas at Philedphia - eagles win
Cleveland at Baltimore - ravens win
Giants at Tampa Bay - Giants win
Atlanta at New England - this is gonna be a real close game, I know new england is at home, but I think Atlanta is playing really good and so my pick is. Falcons win.
Tennesse at Jets - no way titans go 0-3. Titans win
Green Bay at St. louis - Packers win.
SanFransico at Vikings - gonna be a real good contest. Favre proves his worth and helps Vikes win.
Jacksonville at Houston - Texans win.
Washington at Detriot - I really want to say lions, but i feel redskins defense willpull out the win.
Chicago at Seattle- Bears win.
New Orleans at Buffalo - Saints win.
Miami at San Diego- Dolphins win.
Denver at Oakland - Raiders win
Pittsburgh at Cinncinati - Bengals win... my week 3 upset.
Indy at Arizona - Cards win
Carolina at Dallas - Cowboys win.
Pat Kirwan made an interesting point on nfl chat. Brees has the benefit of playing in the dome. In december qbs usually throw less with the bad weather. Brees has the benefit of playing many winter games in a dome sheltered from the elements.
Also after seeing Romo destroy the bucs pass defense, i'm dreading the fact Bress gets two games against that team.....bucs are my team lol.
