[QUOTE="Sepewrath"][QUOTE="Rod90"] I don't think he's suggesting the whole game doesn't take place in the mushroom kingdom, rather just not all of it.

Exactly.

It doesn't matter where the game takes place, it matters what universe the game takes reference from. It takes reference from the Mario universe, so anything within that universe is up for grabs. The tail fits in just as much as turtle shells or bullet bills.

But Wuhu Island isn't a Mario universe reference, which is what he was getting at.

I thought there was no auto-save with GBA ambassador games? Nintendo stated that you specifically had to use the save features within the games.

It's not really a pattern, but Nintendo trying to change an already succesful formula. SMB was great, they tried somehing different with SMB2, it didn't work as well, go back to old formula and release SMB3.

KnightSkull

I just thought I'd point out that the version of SMB2 that was released outside Japan wasn't originally a Mario game,it's a redesign of a Japanese game called "Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic" (Dream Factory: Heart-Pounding Panic). The original SMB2 was only released outside of Japan when "Super Mario All Stars" came out on the SNES and was names "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels".The reason Nintendo didn't release it before was because of the close similarities with the first game and because of its difficulty.

It's actually a common misconception that SMB2 was not released in the western world because of its difficulty. So much so that even reviewers have claimed this to be the case. In reality, a western equivalent of the Famicom Computer Disk System was never released and was a requirement for Super Mario Bros 2.

Was I the only one who thought the visuals in PS1 games went a bit funny on the PS2? I remember playing Final Fantasy VII and when on the world map your character, buggy and airship would have a grey transparent box around them. Metal Gear Solid had some odd graphical moments too.

[QUOTE="ZumaJones07"][QUOTE="Rod90"][QUOTE="ZumaJones07"] You realize they're in the Mushroom Kingdom right? Anyway, this looks cool! Is it wishful thinking that it can block the damn blue shell?

Absolutely not. They are just courses. And there's even one in Wuhu Island; that's not the mushroom kingdom.

So stages like Mushroom Gorge, Toad's Turnpike, Mario Raceway, Luigi's Mansion, and all the others MK courses that aren't Wuhu Island aren't in the Mushroom Kingdom? Odd thinking. Just like the mushroom, star, mega mushroom, and turtle shells, the tail is an item in the Mushroom Kingdom. You must also think bananas are out of place too then. Where do they appear in Mario games?

I don't think he's suggesting the whole game doesn't take place in the mushroom kingdom, rather just not all of it.

The only rubbish game from the 10 NES games, in my opinion, is Ice Climbers. The rest are great. Especially Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong Jr and Wrecking Crew.

I think the reason people aren't allowed to film this is because its far from ready. Cars are disappearing in shot. The wheels turn too far compared how the car moves. These are all signs of an early build.

[QUOTE="Spinnerweb"]

[QUOTE="AlmightyDerek"] Me too. I sold my Minish Cap as I don't really have anything to play it on anymore. I'm not getting my hopes up though.Rod90

This is funny, but me too. :P

I just hope the games aren't as bad as the NES ones. :D And free Pokemon sounds cool, yet I doubt Ninty will be that nice. :(

They are not free. You payed 80 dollars for them.

Actually, we just paid $80 dollars more for our 3DS because we were inpatient.

I would probably have bought it, if I had seen some video, but the only ones I've seen are for XBox and other system. I am really getting the feeling 3DS is being treated poorly all across the spectrum. There are still sites like g4tv that have 3DS info if any under DS headings, which to me seems rude. Even Gamespot seems slow at times with some of the updates, and even forget to change release dates, the latest release dates shown two games coming out on the 4th when one is suppose to come out on the 7th of this month and the other is suppose to come out next month. I know 3DS had a rocky start, but that by no means you should treat it so poorly.

Kirbside
Gamespot are pretty slow with Nintendo based content, for whatever reason.

As far as i'm aware, none of them were badly received. Majora's Mask was very well received and Sunshine was far from being badly received. Super Mario Bros 2 and The Adventures of Link just happen to be different to their originals, but were well received in their day. SMB2 also happens to be my favourite game of all time. As for the Wii Sports/Music thing. They're completely different series. :/
