According to Nintendo Europe, as long as you've made a single visit before the 11th, you're ok. Says nothing about visiting between the 1st and the 11th.

"To register for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme, you only need to make sure you visit the Nintendo eShop at least once on your Nintendo 3DS before 23:59 pm (Central European Time) on August 11th."

I don't think Nintendo's hand was forced by resisting gamers, rather the declining sales of the Wii. For sure there is a lack of games, but that has more to do with its early release to cover falling Wii sales. Developers had to rush out ports or revive old DS projects in order to meet the launch. Had Nintendo held out for a summer release the line up would have been stronger and the up coming games wouldn't seem so far away.

I'd absolutely love Super Mario Bros 2 on the NES. My favourite 2D side-scroller of all time. It's aged so well too. Other NES wishes include Metroid, Tetris, Marble Madness and Bubble Bobble. Those would be awesome. As for GBA games, i've not played too many, so i'm not particularly fussed as to which games they give us, but i'd definately like to play Metroid: Zero Mission.

Well, we're not getting Kid Icarus in the UK this year, but i'm most definately getting Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7. I'm also getting Cave Story 3D and Crush3d, assuming the latter doesn't get delayed again...

I think people are missing the point with these 'free' games. They're not free as in its some kind of prize. It's compensation for having to pay more than most will. That's all it is. Whether or not you're happy with your compensation is another matter. This issue about whether or not is truly free is pointless, because its not meant to be. It's meant to make up the price deficit, that's all.

On that note, however, these 20 games will be near enough free for me. I paid £200 for my 3DS at launch. That came with Pilotwings, so you could argue that the console cost me £170. On top of that, the UK price drop is meant to bring the price down around the £150 - £155 mark, apparently, and so i'll have paid £15 - £20 for the 20 games. That's no more than £1 each. Not quite free, but a bargain none the less.

Yeah, Super Mario Land 3D sounds like a 3D remake.

Is there not a way to reset absolutely everything in the system settings? Perhaps that could be key to removing the Parental lock.

I really enjoyed the Mario 64 port on the DS. Whilst it didn't control as well as the N64 version, the controls were far from awful. I still rate it as being one of my favourite DS games.

As far as I was aware, Rare have no rights over any of the Donkey Kong games. Donkey Kong is a Nintendo product. They own the rights to it, they just let a 3rd party handle the development. Rare would have been contracted to develop it, but wont have any rights over its distribution.

I'll admit there are some average games on there, but nothing rubbish or forgetful. Even Alleyway and Tennis were good, if a little primitive.
