There is a weird problem going around, which quite a few people have noted, in which people are having to press the power button 3 times in order to turn the console on. This appears to be the case after charging the console or having the console turned off for a fair amount of time? It might not be of any help, but i'd suggest trying pressing the power button 3 times and see if it eventually comes on. I have to do this myself, on occasion, though not recently.

I can only comment on Sim City Creator, as it's the only one i've played and I still own it. It's actually a pretty good game. The concept of building your town up through different time periods works ok, but it really just acts as an introduction to Sim City as a whole. One era will involve purely residential areas, another will introduce commercial areas and police, the next will introduce health and industrial areas, and so on. I've probably got around 20 hours out of it to date, and though the series hasn't had great appeal to me for some time, I did enjoy it. There are two save slots available, which is ok if you want to play through the main game mode and the standard freeplay mode. My only complaint with the game is that the main mode slows up dramatically once you reach the modern era, and so i've not seen beyond it.

I think the red/green light flashing has more to do with battery consumption at the time. You may find that the light is just green, but if you press the touch screen it'll go red. It's all based on how much power the console is using at that given moment. As for your other problems, I can't really help you. I've never experienced having a cut palm. My original DS used to dig into my palms, but I got used to it quite quickly. I would have assumed the DS lite would have been more comfortable, but I guess not lol.

Its ridiculous to ask other people if its worth the purchase price when its all about opinion.

elpooz

Then I guess asking people what games are worth purchasing is ridiculous, because it's all about opinion? :?

And Sony did NOT take losses with the PSP. Some people seem to assume that they did simply because Nintendo "beat" them with the DS, but Sony did profit, quite a bit, off of the PSP.

The $250 price tag is pretty ridiculous, for $50 more you could get a 360 or a PS3, both of which have more powerful technology, more features, better libraries etc. They should at least have a good bundle available... If it was $250 for the system plus OoT, that would be a much more attractive option...

Good point actually. My bad. According to this source here, the PSP cost roughly $170 to build and consumers paid $250 for it. That's a mark up of $80.The DS lite originally cost $90 to build and consumers paid $130 for it. That's a $40 mark up. If anything, I think Nintendo have taken a leaf out of Sony's book this time around, by increasing the profit margin. I'm not supporting this decision, but why undercut the competition when your handheld's are more recognisable, cater to a wider audience and have a unique selling point. On top of all that, why weren't Sony selling the PSP at a loss, like the PS3 and PS2? Are they doing it with Vita?

No I do not. If I was to buy a 3DS today, there wouldn't be a single game for me to buy. Not to mention I don't think the 3DS is worth $250. I will not be getting one until it drops to $160-$200.

AmazonTreeBoa

Why does it need a price drop?

Because it's not worth it's current asking price. The Vita is a lot more powerful, yet the same price. Clearly Nintendo is ripping you off. Sure you can say "THE GAMES, THE GAMES" (which there are none I want), but that's the games, not the system. I won't say the games aren't worth the asking price because they are, but the system isn't.

Hey, just because one company sells their product at a loss, it doesn't mean the other is ripping you off.

If somebody was to buy a 3DS today, i'd recommend they picked up Ocarina of Time, Link's Awakening, Donkey Kong and, if they could find it cheap, Pilotwings. That might well be enough to hold some interest until the late Autumn. Personally i'm very much happy with my purchase. It's been getting consistent use since launch thanks to the opening of the eShop and Ocarina.

I've never had to restart the console because of ghosting, or as some put it 'double-imaging'. I've found that I experienced this most during my first weeks of usage. My eyes were often strained and I couldn't play for more than half an hour before the ghosting appeared. My solution was to simply turn the 3D slider to a low setting and work it back up slowly, each and every time you play. Give it a week and you'll be used to playing on full without ghosting.

A second tip, the vertical tilting of the console can sometimes produce ghosting. Try tilting the console up and down and see if that improves the image. I've had to do this a few times in recent weeks. As I say though, i've never had to restart my 3DS in order to get rid of ghosting. Not to say that it isn't a solution.

They did hint at Final Fantasy V and VI though, which would be awesome. I wouldn't expect any remake of FFVII until its 20th anniversary.
