Alright, Tried it.

Didn't work, but like I said, anything at this point would be helpful.

Anyone or anything else?

I am one step away from calling sony support, but hopefully someone can help me out before it comes to that.Ever since I discovered that I could stream and download my movies via media sharing ala windows media player, my life has been better. Two easy steps, enable media sharing in the ps3 settings, and do the same in wma. My ps3 is still in the list of devises being shared to.However, starting yesterday, the server icon was strangely absent from my ps3's XMB. I took it upon myself to research every possible problem and went through all the steps to fix them.

- Media Sharing is enabled on my ps3

- Media sharing is enabled on my laptop

-Windows Media player recognizes my ps3, and it is allowed

- I have windows media sharing checked as an exception in my firewall

- I have restarted both the ps3 and computer numerous times

- I have unplugged my ps3

- I reconfigured my ps3's network setting

And lastly, I downloaded the program called TVersity, which is basically the same thing. Again, the service is up and running, but my ps3 shows no sign of it. Now may I remind you, that it was working perfectly up until yesterday, and there was no difference of activity between that time, so this whole thing is an anomoly to me.Media sharing has become an essential part of my ps3 experiance, so it is really driving me crazy that this is happening. Please, any advice, knowledge, or simliar stories would be greatly appreciated.

About 2 weeks ago I discovered my ps3's ability to stream content from my laptop. With a simple enabling of the media sharing in the ps3's network settings, and the same with the laptop. After that I enjoyed countless hours of movies, music, and shows. it made life easier.

Then last night i turned my system on planning to watch a movie, but found that my laptop's icon was no longer present. I tried everything but could not get it back.

- Ps3's media sharing enable
- laptop's media sharing enabled
- I even turned my firewall off

Pls help, this is really annoying
