Also, Im not telling anyone what they should play, I could care less. This topic was strictly a comparison bewteen PS3 and 360, because they are very close in terms of technology.

I dont care how much you love the Wii or if its sold a Bazillion units, its no where near the other two consoles in terms of actual technology. Eventually your gonna be sick of all your games looking like animal crossing.

Its like this, I have very fond memories of the original nintendo, but I dont want my games to look like that anymore, because there's no need for it.

What they could do is actually push the current consoles to their limit.

There were only a handful of games that really pushed the ps2. So with the technology currently being used in today's consoles, they could easily squeeze out 8 or 9 more years of games

Get one console fine tuned, and get your software sales up. Stop making 90 SKUs

Okay, lets make this simple. Despite the fact that your talking about the only console not relevant to this topic.Perhaps you and your Wii have been living under a rock, but yes, people who dont like video games are buying a video game console. Why are they doing that? because the Wii lacks so much substance, anyone's grandmother can waggle the wiimote and play the shallow games it streams out every day.Sit someone's grandma down and ask em to play Gears of War or Portal. Guess what, they cant do it...at all.

No its not. Its the best selling console because its target consumers dont like video games. And the people who dont like video games outnumber us who do a great deal.

Lets face it, the Wii is a gamecube in a shiny new package with a new controller. Literally. The largest portion of its library are crappy party games with "Wii" in the title. Wii Sports, Wii Dance, Wii Sing, Wii Nap, Wii shake our gimmicky controller...So on so forth

As an owner of both an 80 ps3 and Xbox 360 Elite, I wanted to compare each system using my own personal opinions. But anyones more than welcome to join in. I know it might be asking a bit much, but if possible could we present our opinions in kind of a respectful manner?

Appearance:

The elite comes up from behind to snag this win. I was not a fan of the whole white and green thing. But the black elite takes the victory. I like the ps3's glossy sheen and chrome trim, but its shape....that huge hump....not appealing. also the gloss begs for your fingerprints.

Winner: 360

Interface:

This is a little bit more difficult. They both have effective interfaces but I think I'm gonna go with the ps3. The blades are neat but sometimes it feels a little crowded. the XMB is smooth and simple. Plus, the themes are free.

Winner: Ps3

Controllers:

I cant' believe I'm saying this since I hated the original xbox controllers so much, but the 360 gets this one. Im still not use to the analogs not being parallel, but overall it wins. It started with rumble, despite it using actual batteries, the life is incredibly long, and it fits well in your hands. but the factor that makes this one a no contest is the sleep function. When you leave the 360 controller idle, it powers down saving battery life. I cant tell you how many times I fell asleep watching something on my ps3, waking up to a dead controller.

Winner: 360

Games:

This is a pretty big one, but at the moment the edge goes to the 360. I love my ps3 to death, but Im starved for games. ever since MGS 4 came out, there arent any exclusives that really excite me. Im also a rpg fan, so the complete lack of rpgs on the ps3 is heartbreaking to me. At the moment, most of the awesome games are for both; Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry, GTA4, RESIDENT EVIL 5, Oblivion, FF 13, COD 4 etc. Despite it most likely being due to the one year head start, the 360 gets this one.

Winner: 360

Graphics:

I will not even debate this one, I think its insane. how good a game looks is mostly up to the developers. Both the PS3 and 360 look amazing....really amazing.

Winner: Tie

Technology:

This one is pretty big to me, which is sad because its very one sided (to me). The, or shall I say "my" ps3 is a very quite, very simple to use, and very user friendly machine. It does everything I want it to do and more, and it does it all with little effort. Within 10 minutes of having it out of the box, I had it connected to a wireless signal, and had already began downloading from the PSN. Anything and everything can be stored and transfered with a usb storage device, including ps2 save data. The 360 on the other hand, gets a big "SUCK" sticker for this one. The lack of built in WiFi is nothing short of special ed. The lack of support for USB drives is equally dumb. I should be able to dump save files on my flash drive. yeah, my 4 gig drive I payed 25 bucks for. Buuut noooo...I need a 512 MB memory card that costs 50. And if I want to use a wireless signal I have to buy an adapter for 100. Insanity. I understand why they didn't include HDDVD drives in thier console, but trust me, the internet is not going anywhere. Also....DVDs...come on. Lost Odyssey should NOT be on 4 discs.

Winner: PS3, by a long shot.

Stability/Hardware:

This one is obvious. Everyone is familiar with the term RROD. It doesn't end there though. The 360's fans make it sound like a UFO half the time, and a sliding disc tray was not the best choice. I've never once had a problem with my ps3, Ive left on on for a week straight without so much as a stutter.

Winner: PS3

OVERALL:

They're both great consoles with their own ups and downs. The ps3 needs more games and the 360 needs to update its technology. And not to mention, they both make the Wii look like....something very unpleasant.

I see the other topic got locked, but I wanted you update you guys on what happened.

The friend I mentioned came home and ultimately decided it'd be easier to switch hard drives all together.

So...we just swapped hard drives. He had already beaten the games he was playing, and doesn't care about his gamertag

Now I got my game data. Not to mention the wireless adapter he bought with his old 360 and didn't want anymore.

Special Ed:

I was not being entirely literal. The thing is I wont have a dime to spend on gaming for two weeks. I have two games, and I already have played them both on my friends 360 over the last few weeks. I have no desire to start them over since they're rpgs. So until I can buy memory cards, I dont really want to play my games.

I suppose there's not much I can do. Perhaps borrow some games I haven't played yet until next pay check. I get payed biweekly which sucks.

Not to be a jackass or anything, but needlessly defending something up against logical and calmly presentedcriticisms is making me wary of this entire forum. Im not bashing anything, Im expressing my dismay in a fairly delicate way.

The fact that people are coming out of the wood work to label as a troll because I had some questions is unsettling.

This is the last time I will say this. Im an adult, not a sniveling fan boy. Im positive I will enjoy years of gaming on this console, calm down. I've played the system before, I was confident I wanted one. Its not a crime to have a complaint, let alone a reasonable one.

If you have no intention of making suggestions, just dont post please. I would appreciate it.

Who said anything about a media center? Dont put words in my mouth. I could care less about media at the moment.

I want to play games ONLINE with my friends. I want to resume the games Ive been palying for three weeks already. GAMES.
