Oh wait....you mean I can type a blog on this site. Hooray!!!!

Ill be sure to type a nice long impactful blog so no one will see it and there would be no real discussion. YES! dream come true.

I thought thats what forums were for, but I guess they're actually just to tell people they should blog. Never knew that

Toki:

No, I said no new as in upcoming games appealed to me. As in I was done with the ones I did have.

I had Zelda, I had Pokemon, I had FF3 (not 4) and they were good. The other titles do not appeal to me though.

I just wasnt using it enough and there was a hardware sale at gamestop.

I will rebuy a DS when they release the next real pokemon game though

AlexSays:

If you're only here to discuss games you like and/or you are excited about, you are in the wrong place.

This forum is dedicated to comparing the systems, which includes debating, agreeing, and all out war.

Why are you even here? You've never contributed to anything with your remarks, which lack substance. If all you're going to do is disagree without expaining yourself, and assuring us all that you don't care what other people think, then do everyone a favor and go away

Toki1776:

I bought the DS and like it for awhile. I think the whole touch thing worked nicely. I didnt mind the graphics at all, they were pretty good for a handheld.

In the end I sold it becuase I had traded in all my games, and there werent any new ones coming out that I was interested in.

It's going to be hard to keep up with the brainless responses, but Ill try it, jsut for fun.

- I dont need someone with a mario avatar to spout one lined remarks like, should I cry for you. It makes you look simple, wastes my time, and wastes space in the topic.

- I dont need someone to make asinine remarks like I work at nintendo. Doesn't even make sense.

- I really don't need somone mocking the topic with a broken speech packed ride through idiot world. Instead of actually saying anything you decided to throw your validity down the toilet by typing like that.

Thanks for Tragic Kingdom 7, who actually typed an intelligent response that made any sense.

Somebody has some issues.

How insecure are you really?

If I see someone bash the ps3, I either dont care or I argue with valid points.

My approval doesnt help you enjoy games, but your empty objections don't help anyone do anything.

Everyone else:

I dont have a blog, that's where this forum comes in.

Why bother? Perhaps to hear similiar stories, perhaps to hear ones that went the other way.

If you absoloutly don't care, the fact that you clicked on this topic, read it (assuming anyone did) and actually typed a response, is lunacy. Go away if you don't care

There ya go.

Did you even read anything but the last sentence.

I dont need you to tell me people can have opinions, Im well aware, especially since I have my own. This topic is rooted in my own personal experiance, so your uneccessary objection just makes you look like a mindless fanboy.

If you want to debate with me, say things that actually mean something as opposed to your: nah uh. It's great, everyone likes it.

Now I've been attached to video games since I was old enough to utilize basic motor skills. My first system was the original NES, and I actually don't even remember how I got it thats how long ago it was. I lived in LA (the state) at the time, so I loved playing outside and having adventures, but my favorite thing to do was play video games.

Not long after that my uncle bought me the original gameboy along with mario: the six golden coins. I cant even explain how much I played that game; most likely 300+ hours if not more. I was a happy camper. So when my uncle bought me the Super Nintendo system, I was more or less in heaven. For years and years I was content with my SNES, with a plethora of Mario titles and new games to boot, I couldn't imagine things getting much better. But one day they did.

When I first saw the N64, I was more or less in shock. I couldn't believe how amazing it looked. I was in a store and picked up the controller to demo Mario 64 and my jaw dropped. To this day I believe that was the single "true revolution" in the video game industry. I got my N64 for christmas a few years later. I stayed up for 3 days playing it. My first game was WCW Revenge. My second was Resident Evil 2. My third was Clayfighter 63 1/3.

At the time I didn't even know the Playstation existed. And When I finally did learn of it I argued with them about N64's superiority. I never changed my mind.

It wasn't until the new generation of consoles approached that things began to change. The gamecube/ps2 both looked amazing. I knew I needed one. Being a Nintendo fan I decided on the gamecube. But when I saw a commercial for FF X I went the other way and got a ps2 instead. I told myself I would get the gamecube as well one day. My first ps2 game was FF10, my second was DBZ, My third was Dark Cloud 2, My fourth was .hack.

I never got a gamecube. Mario had lost his appeal to me, perhaps I just needed a deeper experience. Super Mario Sunshine didn't help either, I was not interested in cleaning anything. My PS2 became more than I anticipated, with a constant stream of amazing titles.

Despite my new found love for Sony's Playstation 2, I was still very thrilled to read about Nintendo's "Revolution". Yet my excitement actually died down a bit the day of the name change. As soon as the Wii was properly revealed, everyone ooh'ed and ahh'ed. I was disappointed. It looked exactly (graphics) like a camecube, and had a strange remote that you waved to control the games. Despite my positive history with Nintendo, I was turned off instantly. The playstation 3 had my full attention from there forward.

So that brings me to the present. I now have a PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP. I had bought a DS Lite but have sold in my frustration regarding lack of actual games. What not a lot of people seem to get is: I need video games, they are my largest hobby. I play them to relax, relieve stress, and have fun. Being Immersed in them helps all the more. I cant be immersed in something that refuses to adopt standard technology. Its kind of sad in retrospect, and sometimes I even feel a little betrayed.

My rundown of the Wii:

Wires: Its supposed to be "wireless" but I spot a wire connecting the two gimmicky controllers, and a wire connecting a sensor strip that is resting on top of the TV. Not to mention the wrist strap dangling (I know its detachable).

Graphics: Oh look, its the gamecube. What....its not? I dont get it. What do you mean graphics don't make the game? (If Nintendo decided that their next console would revert to 8 bit graphics, you wouldn't care? As long as the games were good. Well I care, you have to keep up with the times. Im not listening to music on cassettes anymore, and Im not playing "new" games that look like the could be 5-10 years old.

Storage: No hard drive? Disappointing.

Games: The biggest let down by far. Sure there's something to be found in Mario (not for me), Metroid (not for me), Zelda (Id rather play it on GC), and SSB (again, rather play it on GC). But after that, its disgusting. Every game is a gimmick. Look at the Wii section in the store, you see more party games and brain training games, and cooking sims, and skiing sims, and dancing sims than you do anything else. Its most impressive games are PORTS of last gen games; Okami, Resident Evil 4, Zelda: TP

Media: Now I play games to play games, everything else is a bonus. I also like to reduce clutter. Why the Wii still doesnt play DVD's (a universally adopted format) is beyond me.

As I stand today Nintendo has lost me as a fan. I know they don't care either because they're making millions off of the people who didn't grow up playing their console.
