if you could find something with a x1600 video card that would probably do, your not gonna get 100fps but those games you listed would be atleast be somewhat playable. some laptops have a slot that lets you change video cards, if you could find something cheap with the upgrade slot you could just buy a video card.

Some devices like Pda's and the nintendo ds can only be connected through a wireless connection.

another reason you might use one would be if you have 1 computer connected to the internet and you wanted a second computer connected to the internet without having to run cable's all through out the house you could just do it wirelessly.

It's allso very usefull if you want to chat on the internet while your taking a hot steamy dump, like i am right now.

Your harddrive might be on the verge of failure.

These are all just possiblities though

Could be corrupt bios, try flashing.

And make sure all the expansion cards and memory are seated  good well aswell.

It might be a problem with the bios not being able to recognize one of your drives properly.

I would check the ide, sata and psu connectors and make sure there in there good.

(i would unplug and replug everything)

one of the connectors could be broken and finding out which one it is, is gonna be hard.

it might just be the bios , theres allot of things it might be but the connects would be my first guess

[QUOTE="Random__Guy"]

some new games only run at 15-20 fps on even the fastest computers,so overclocking is worth it.

animemog

What games are take that much? I was thinking an 8800GTX, QX6700 and 2 - 4GB or RAM would make anything on the market play with a high FPS. Ahh, do I have to wait longer now to build my computer? I wanted the best quality. :(

I mean full detail and max resolution.

here's one example

Unless you got like 10 hardrives and are burning 3 dvd's at the same time your not gonna use more thn 300w

Your system will probably use around 120w max with a 1950pro

I cant say 100% for sure but most likely in allmost most cuircumstances a underpowerd psu wont cause permanent damage to your hardware. if you start getting errors and reboots then replace psu.

Well it really is impossible to say for sure but i'm guessing you only have 18a, some people run x1950pro on 18a without any problems and you wont damage anything if it's underpowered, you just might get random reboots (under full load).

I would make sure by getting your dad to check the sticker if it's over 22a leave it.

if it's under 22a and you want to save $50 try running the card with your current psu and see if it works.

ok il look around but being a stock psu they could have thrown anything in there, you just need to pop the side open and the sticker is right there.

i have a 300 watt power supply

dragonmaster64

300 watt's is more than enough, check the sticker, the +12v rail is what matters, if it's 28a or 30a or even 24a it will be fine.
