@houshidar You're free to call it "side-stepping" if you'd like. But it's the way I play games, just as the activities you care about are the way you play games. You're free to purchase whatever console you wish that meets your requirements. All I ask is that you accept the fact that, as much as it pains you to believe it, there are consumers who will purchase Xbox One because it suits them.

@obsequies @houshidar @CraZkid37 @RandyAU93 @Gamerhomer I have no choice but to take your word that you're a "developer". I hope you have good copy-editors on payroll, just the same.

@houshidar Microsoft has not blocked the sale of used games; frankly it doesn't affect me because I collect games and therefore don't sell them back.

I rarely let friends borrow games, mainly because they buy the same stuff I do; when we don't, it won't be an issue because they're already friends on Xbox Live so the 30-day window will have been dealt with years ago. And when it's borrowed, it's kept until completed, then I either not worry about it or get a used copy (if I can find one) or a new greatest-hits/GOTY copy.

I take care of my equipment; I've got 30-year-old consoles that work perfectly. If something happens that it needs repair, then it needs repair. I have other activities and other consoles in the meantime. It's the same if the drive fails or something else breaks. It won't be the end of the world.

I've never paid $60 for Xbox Live; the market rate is $40, based on sales at any number of online retailers throughout the year. And I've got any number of devices that use Netflix, so the loss of one won't be an issue.

@obsequies @RandyAU93 @Gamerhomer You're welcome to your opinions (I hesitate to dub them "facts"). And how does loss of competition benefit everyone?

@obsequies @RandyAU93 @Gamerhomer Failure to address question = conceding point. Thanks for conceding. Now, I'd like to hear Gamerhomer's rationale for his statement.

@obsequies @RandyAU93 @Gamerhomer Still can't engage in a debate, can we? I thought you had grown up earlier when you responded with a legitimate question, which was answered.

@obsequies @RandyAU93 @houshidar Gladly: Microsoft. "Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games."
