[QUOTE="RaveRabbid"][QUOTE="i_like_pizza"][QUOTE="RaveRabbid"] Again, claiming that because Matt works for IGN, he cannot lie is preposterous. However, something that isn't a lie is is fanboyism for Nintendo and the sole reason his statements cannot be taken at face value. IGN certainly didn't tell him to post that as news. If those numbers are indeed correct (highly doubtful), you will see Nintendo release a press statement like MS does all the time. Until then, its nothing more than a hoax.

With the knowledge NPD is a private company that could sue another organization for falsifying their data, it's fairly safe to assume that Matt is not lying. Not only that, but there are thousands of people with access to this information, and if Matt's report was false, we would know by now. Just so you know, the reported attach ratios for the two consoles were VERY close. Apparently, the Wii was slightly about 8 (8.11), while the 360 was slightly below 8 (like 7.86 or something).
Again, stop assuming. Where is the hard data? NPD didn't state the ratio but Matt did.
NPD DID STATE THE RATIO! Do you not get that they are a private company that spends BIG BUCKS to track these retailers? Do you think they would give away their info for free? Early in 2007 NPD actually took the right away from its subscribers to post ANY data, not even a brief report. They have the right to do that if they want because it is their data. Do you think a company that collects data to sell to investors and industry insiders would not care about someone falsifying their tracked claims?
Seriously, don't be a fool. This is plain and simple.
Where is the link that states they stated THAT RATIO?? There seems to be some serious debate. The thread was started with the premise that the Wii had a higher attach ratio for Dec. but the proof was a statement by a bias fanboy (Matt).
No other data was presented. The TC asked the forum goers to believe this statement at face value but Matt has no credibility hence, more proof (in terms of numbers) is required. No one should ever have to take a statement at face value unless its credible. Again, if you believe that NPD stated this Ratio, please provide the link.
