@pspearman @MadMaley @Hvac0120 Planetside 2 and DC Universe are always online as well... yet they will not require Sony's paid online service. Also, Killer Instinct is not an F2P that requires a connection to play. It can be played offline solo but you have to pay to unlock the rest of the game. So in this case, your comparison is irrelevant. This is talking about F2P online games.
@MadMaley @pspearman @Hvac0120 Correct. All current F2P games will not require PS+ and that it will be up to the publisher to decide if it is required. Considering that any publisher would be stupid to make their F2P game require a paid service that they don't even make money on, you will not see this happen on the PSN.
@chevelle451 @MjnE Insomniac doesn't own any of the rights to the franchises they made for Sony and Insomniac not exclusively developing for Sony is irrelevant since they were never owned by Sony to begin with. What this article is referring to is first-party titles. Games published and owned by Sony. So, no. None of them will be going anywhere.
@SirNormanislost @RavenSoS C&C3 was the start of their downfall? Not Tiberium Wars. Kane's Wrath was though. That game was all about adding more units and getting Natasha Henstridge's cleavage in the game. That would lead to Red Alert 3 in which a significant amount of marketing was pretty much, "Hey! Look how many nice pairs we got in one game for you!". By C&C4 they designed the game as if they were already drunken hobos.
