Meh. Buzzwords. Everyone uses them. Few have anything actually worth talking about. Usually they'll take a small chance and call it "new and improved". I don't approve of that kind of dishonest marketing but as long as it's fun I don't really care.
As far as quicktime events go that's a matter of opinion so don't give yours as if it's a fact. They ruin them for you apparently. Not for me. The zombie variety complaint you have is you being nitpicky. RE4 and RE5 had little variety in their cannon fodder enemies and yet you loved those games. That tells me that variety isn't truly that big of a deal to you. You're just looking for something to complain about. I saw enough variety in less than 20 minutes of gameplay. May also want to consider that if the variety there wasn't enough for you. It was a very small portion of the game being displayed. The controls are the only thing I was concerned with but considering that we have a guy in this comments section who says he played the demo and once he got used to the controls they were 'fun'.. I'm going to take his word over someone who only saw a video. The game showed what you personally feel are flaws. That is your opinion and you're entitled to it. Whether or not the guy displaying it was a good player is really just another indication to me that you just want to complain.
It does look sweet in my opinion. I like what I heard about them making the different campaigns have their own feel as far as horror and pace. I really do hope they bring back more of the puzzle elements to the franchise. That's something I feel has been greatly missing since CODE: Veronica. They said they brought back some but I'm a little uneasy about how hesitant the guy sounded.
The controls looking sloppy could either be because the guy playing is not all that good or because they just haven't tightened the controls yet. He may also have them set a certain way that causes them to be loose. This demo was to show off the game itself not how good the guy demoing the game is so it didn't bother me that he didn't do any headshots because I know I will be doing them.I loved RE4 and RE5 as well though I felt RE5 was a bit disappointing in certain areas. I don't have any problem with the quicktime events because I feel that it really keeps you on your toes when you think you're safe. I do, however, wish there weren't so many of them. It seemed like every 30 seconds at least there was another reason for him to perform a quicktime function. There seemed to be plenty of zombie variety. Far more so than the variety of the cannon fodder we had in 4 and 5. I saw various skin colors, genders, clothes, and even what seemed to be some uniformed zombies.
