Are you speaking in past tense intentionally? Because EA doesn't own Crytek. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you.

Not with EA in the sense that they are owned by them from what I understand. Rather, they just had a publishing deal with them through the EA Partners program which is now gone. I looked and didn't see anything about EA owning Insomniac.

I think their point is that Nintendo had recently announced that they are going to promote the Wii U through Miiverse to help increase sales. If Nintendo does not allow other non-Wii U owners to check it out via PC then they're right. It is simply Nintendo preaching to the choir. I wouldn't blame them. I would blame Nintendo's poor marketing strategies which has certainly been a major contributor to the Wii U's low sales.

@Morphine_OD The fact that Final Fantasy XIV ever made it out the door and into the public is mind numbing to me. That game was a disaster and anyone with any sense who knows the industry would have slammed those doors shut, locked them, and told everyone there that they're not going home until it's good or the game is cancelled and no one is getting paid.

@pongley I was thinking the same thing. I'm willing to bet most PC sales were purchased through Steam.

So now we're crying about sexism? You're just as bad as the people who cried racism when RE5 was shown to be killing blacks in Africa. No one was complaining when white people were dying left and right. No one complains when female characters are the leads most if not all of the time. Seriously, just shut up. Keep your politically correct crap out of my games. I play them to escape reality not have someone like you try to jam it back in. Capcom makes the games. They get to decide who takes the lead. Don't like it? Want games that focus on equality? Go start your own game studio and make them. Though you'll probably fail because you'll spend so much time worrying about who you're offending instead of just making the games.

I wouldn't say RE5 was a huge disappointment but it was disappointing for me. It definitely didn't fill the shoes RE4 left. I'm going to reserve judgement on the "muddled mess" until I see more of what's going on. I can't base such an opinion on the combined 30 minutes of gameplay I've seen.

Every Resident Evil game has done something different from the last one and sometimes multiple things are different. I'll wait and see how skill points work before I make a judgement. The merchant thing was done in one game. I didn't personally feel any attachment to it like I did with the item chests from the original games. Engaging in item exchanges with a strange man in a strange place with danger everywhere always felt silly to me.

I'm going to agree with you on the co-op part. It was one of my biggest complaints about RE5. I was constantly annoyed by my AI partner. If they really must add a co-op component I say keep it for other game modes. Keep it OUT of story mode.

I like what I've seen and heard so far with a couple exceptions.

I wouldn't get any hopes up about a console version.
