"the system willrequire an Internet connection to function. This feature "isn't as Draconian as many seem to believe," he said."

How "less Draconian" requiring the user to be online to play a game can be? It will take 20 minutes of disconnection instead of 3 before it closes the software? SimCity does this and it messes up the cloud saves.

I'm still hoping this guy and the other people who spread this rumor are just confused, mixing up the fact that the console is designed to *take advantage* of constant Internet connection, as opposed to *requiring it* for you to play a game. But since we're talking Microsoft - the company that managed to charge for online play and make lots of people (myself included for some time) to be content with it -
all bets are off.

@acelogan1989 It may happen, but at least officially, their first step is to re-release the first two games on digital PC platforms:

@dominoodle @Shanks_D_Chop @Dirk_McHardpeck "I can almost guarantee most of the money put into CoD goes to the single player. Multiplayer doesn't require nearly as much voice acting, motion capturing and animating."

I wouldn't bet too much on it. Not that it *can't* be true, but I just heard that the new map pack features some famous actor on the new Zombies map, and IIRC Activision has done it in the previous CoD also. And they're investing a lot more in e-Sports, trying to make CoD a big name on that scene too, and that includes hefty tournament prizes.

May not be as much as they'd spend on the single player campaign, but I'd bet the difference is getting smaller and smaller every year.

Interesting; lots of the downsides in this seem pretty much identical to the beefs I have with the first two Persona games.

(Please bear in mind I'm a latecomer to the series, so I started playing Persona 1 and Persona 2: Innocent Sin on the PSP after playing Persona 3 FES and alongside Persona 4: The Golden. I am yet to play a proper SMT game; Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga for the PS2 are on their way home from Asia, and I'm almost finishing SMT: Devil Survivor on the DS.)

I am yet to finish the first Persona games, but I've sunk more than 20 hours on each and they were still easily worth the money despite their old trappings, so I'm glad I pre-ordered Soul Hackers as well. I really hope the story is at least better than the first Persona; the premise does seem more promising.

@hector530 @RealFabioSooner That's not the point. The point is covering all bases and making sure that if that happens it's entirely the parents' fault.

@hector530 @WhiteStormy No it doesn't. There's no actual provision or fine for retailers that do sell M-rated games to minors. Most avoid it out of common sense and to get themselves out of trouble, not for any legal reason. Making it a regulation where offenders could be issued a fine may make the most unprofessional retailers respect the ESRB ratings.

@WhiteStormy Yeah. While many statements contained in this article are either hyperbolic or flat out untrue ("several public health organizations say that..."), the actual measures proposed are for the most part just common sense - to the point they're already being practiced by any conscious retailer. I see no problem in removing violent games from public highway stops also. These are not meant for children and should not be easily accessible to them indeed.

So it's Retro City Rampage under a slightly different rose-tinted nostalgia lens, then. Got it.

I'll scratch that nostalgia itch with games whose developers understand that even old-school 2d shenanigans need to evolve, such as in Bit.Trip Runner 2 or Hotline Miami.

@Rubious @VarHyid Was just perusing the comments to see if anyone would bring this to light, thanks. I wasn't even aware of this game (much less the "fact" that the art is "polarizing") and I'm not even a fan of the turtles, but as soon as I saw the images I thought "wait - isn't this exactly how the original comics portrayed them?"

But most of these kids probably think "Man Who Sold the World" is a Nirvana song, so it's an uphill battle. Let's just get our canes and get back to our asylums, shall we? :P XD
