And that surprises you? They stressed from the very beginning, over and over again, that this was not going to be as difficult as GH. It is meant more as a social experience and yes, you can certainly play it in single player mode, but that is not really the focus of the game. Perfect the drums on expert, then we'll see what you think.
I had an RRoD as well. I called up and reported the issues, shipped it off when the box came 3 days later, 10 days after that I had a working 360 (refub) back. No problems ever since and it seems to run a lot quieter and cooler than the original. An all around good job by MS. I am on the East Coast, USA, in Philly.
Because its an excellent game, that would be my speculation. I don't have much time to play games, nor do my friends. We're in our upper 20's and early 30's so work and family is the priority. Halo makes it easier than any other game to just sign on, form a party and go. Whether you have 2 friends joining in or 15, doesn't matter; its simple to start games, join games, chat, form parties, and matchmake. Without the social aspect of Halo it wouldn't be nearly as popular. I know all of the girlfriend-less uber-nerds out there consider Halo undeserving because us console "noobs" don't know what a "real" FPS is, but the reality is that many of us make our livings working on computers and have no desire to park in front of one when we get home. Oh, and Half Life 2 is ridiculously overrated. Single player only. Ugh! I have no use for single player games. Single player = boring. Oooh, you can beat a bunch of AI, congrats.

yea but the average score is 8.4. which isn't bad per say, but not what people wanted to hear with all the hype sourrounding it. this thread is most likely gonna get locked up due to the fact that there's already an AC stciky up.
True, although adding a sticky for a game thread and expecting no other threads to be started is idiotic on the mods part. Once the thread gets past like 8 or 10 pages everything just gets lost. I always hated that practice. Maybe they hired smarter moderators recently and it'll remain unlocked.

Heh, I didn't mena to type multi-player in there, just meant FPS. Damn this typing posts quickly in between working :o)
I got a refurb back a couple months ago (mfr date was 3 months newer than the one I sent in) after getting both the RRoD and a jammed CD drive within 5 minutes of one another. The refurb runs almost ridiculously quiet (WAY more quiet than the brand new Elite) and throws off noticeably less heat than the one it replaced. The refurb became my bedroom system so it doesn't get very heavy use, but so far, so good. I have to give MS mad props for the speedy turnaround. 10 days from me shipping it to them to the fixed 360 arriving on my door on a 360 that would have otherwise been out of warranty and had multiple issues...thats pretty good service.
Lost Planet, hands down. It feels like you're running in quicksand the entire time and aiming your weapons are awkward. I can't believe so many people are saying Halo 3. Are you serious? I guess different strokes for different folks, but I can't stop playing it. Best multi player FPS I've ever played (yes, even better than HL2).
