I just played through it, and I have to say it surprised me. Better than I thought it would be. I like the terrain deformation a lot more than I thought I would. You have an energy shield like in Halo instead of a life meter. Some of the weapons are fairly standard fare(machine gun, assault rifle, sniper rifle, rocket launcher), but the Entrencher is actually a lot of fun to use. And I also noticed that as the terrain got all mangled, there wasn't any framerate problems(least none I could see). I am definitely impressed.
i never played the first 2 and wasnt sure about the third, but after watching the new videos on the marketplace i think ill have to find enough money to pick it up. why do all the good games come out around the same time?INF1DEL
Game Informer is giving it an 8.0 in its upcoming issue. Here is the link to read their review. Personally, I find their reviews to be a lot better than Gamespot's.
It's an amazing game. You can easily get 200+ hours out of it. I would suggest getting the game of the year edition, as that has Knights of the Nine questline and the Shivering Isles expansion pack. Adds a lot to an already massive and immersive game.
I'm shocked that you actually think that the game play deserves a 10/10. Don't get me wrong, I'm playing through the game right now I think the graphics are great and the story is amazing but the controls are frustrating. If it wasn't for the great story I wouldn't continue to play the game because the controls are very clunky. Then again the same is to be said about the first couple of Resident Evil games even though I still think they are awesome.
I actually do read game reviews and at times they determine whether I get a game at release or if I hold off on buying it once the price drops. As long as you read the reviews and understand that everyone has their own opinions and the reviews are just there as guidelines you should be alright.

I noticed. I do find it funny though. I usually ignore these type of threads simply because the TC just did it to provoke the crap out of everyone. But what I find funny is that no one said anything until the third page.
There's no reason to take it so personal guys. It's just a game.
