I supose it just depends on peoples preferences. I played uncharted 2 multiplayer and thought it was poor and got bored of it after a couple of games. The shooting just felt boring and gameplay just didnt appeal to me. There is just something about gears multiplayer I really like. But as the saying goes each to there own.

People use sniping too much in "Gears of War MP"... The co-op is, Ok! It's better to play with people you can trust to be team players; It was way too many people goofing around... Trust me, if it wasn't for the hype behind "Gears of War" from Epic or Microsoft, no one would care about the genericness of the campaine or MP... Gears is good but, definitely nothing defining...

Seriously M$ hyped gears to hell and back. It was a decent game but not the masterpiece M$ led its fanboys to believe. Sony puts the time, money, and effort necessary in to its developers and games.... perfects them ... then lets their actual games speak for themselves. Now Uncharted deserves to have that extra level of hype This gen Sony has over taken Nintendo as THE primer first party developers.

Nintendo has always been about inventing new ways to play games and innovative game play mechanices; I guess after awhile, they've managed to hit a brick wall... Sony has seriously and literally upped the bar for what we expect from 1st and 2nd party development; Though I could be wrong about Nintendon't; They've always been secretive about their upcoming games but even nowadays, they have yet to present something ground breaking or interresting to the table... Microsoft is laughable! The only thing they seem to know how to do is purchase IPs and then try and give input as if the game was their idea or something...

from what ive seen on the internet... ps3 is up to 50 mil... 360 is like 52 mil...

will the ps3 pass it in sales?

and why do you think the ps3 is selling better then the 360?

just my opinion... i thought the ps3 wouldve boomed in sales from the beggining just cuz its sony, they already had a huge fanbase with probly close to 300 million consoles sold before the ps3 even came out

and ya i know its not a big deal... just bored so dont say no one cares and crap like that

SuperToshibaMan
Like I said before, half to 3/4 of that 52 mill Microsoft is raving about is because people had to re-purchase the same system 2 to 3 times... You know it, MS Fanboys know it, and Microsoft knows it better than anyone... I don't even see how they should still be aloud to post sales #s after that travesty of hardware failer...

by the way any one else find the statement funny in the fact they have never worked on another system the entire generation? isn't naughty dog the one that said uncharted could never be done any where else based upon the fact they've never even worked with or on another system this generation?

WilliamRLBaker
So, basically what you're saying is, because they work for one company, they're not aloud to try out other company's product? By that logic, we wouldn't have different brands of TVs, Blue-Ray players, MP3 players, Toasters, ect...

Uncharted is a poor man's Indiana Jones, and a rich man's Tomb Raider. Argue polish are you like, but please don't try to claim that the series is unique.

Ironbash

...and "Gears of War" is like a generic 3rd-person shooter with just a fresh coat of paint... so, what's your point! The point is, there is very little room for innovation or originality!

Genre-defining more like.

Really! What did it define???

[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="RecklessTortuga"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"] All of them have praised, Microsoft, yes. Article length is up to the writer.

Ok, Bungi I can believe but, I've never heard nor read a one single article where Epic or Remedy has came out publicly and said good things about Microsoft... Not one!!! You're probably talking about when they have an article on a specific game and are asked specific questions about development time and working with Microsoft but, nothing like this...

Epic has praised its working relationship with Microsoft multiple times. That relationship is the sole reason Gears isn't a multiplat. Remedy has said good things about Microsoft's support as well.

First off, Remedy has never said or mentioned any kind of relation ship with Microsoft... In the case of Alan Wake, Remedy has been working on that game since 2004 had already been developing it for 360; doesn't they had anything good to say about Microsoft specifically... And Epic on says anything if it's pertaining to "Gears of War"; They've never public made a specific statement! If so, links please...

I can think of a few games with a level of polish equal or greater to Uncharted 2

mass effect 2 and starcraft 2 being a few examples off the top of my head

DarkLink77

Its a more unique experience

[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="RecklessTortuga"][QUOTE="Ravensmash"] Why does that matter? Both have very close relationships to MS. Bungie praised them too, even after they left.

So, Bungi, Epic, and Remedy have all made public, 2 page articles on how Microsoft treats them good, gives them time to make their games, and gives them 110% support on all of their games...?

[QUOTE="Ravensmash"][QUOTE="RecklessTortuga"][QUOTE="Ravensmash"] Epic. Remedy. Just off the top of my sleep deprived head.

Microsoft doesn't own any of those studios...

It seems like every week there's a Sony first party dev saying something good about Sony in some article.

Ravensmash
Kinda makes you wonder why any respectful developer has yet to say this about Microsoft...

Epic. Remedy. Just off the top of my sleep deprived head.
